No matter how basic a slot machine is, there is always a gamble feature. It can be triggered after you’ve won a prize, and it provides you with the chance to double or quadruple your win.

However, if you are unsuccessful, then you lose the win altogether.

How A Gamble Feature Works

After you win a prize, the Gamble button becomes illuminated. Click it to open up the slot machine Gamble feature. You are then presented with a screen consisting of a face-down card with poker card suits and colours.

You select a colour or suit. If the card revealed matches the colour you’ve chosen, then you double your prize. If it matches the suit, your prize is multiplied by four.

After making a successful guess, then you have the chance to either collect your prize or try again to further multiply your prize. Once you make an unsuccessful guess, you lose any winning are returned to the base game.

Microgaming’s New Gamble Feature

Microgaming has launched a new Gamble Feature that will appear in its newer titles. Instead of a guessing game, the player is presented with a prize wheel that contains a winning section and losing section. If the spinner lands on the Win section, you increase your prize.

You can adjust the Lose section to be larger or smaller – and, the size will determine how much your prize will be increased if you win.

When Should I Play The Gamble Feature?

We recommend playing the gamble feature after smaller wins. If you’ve cashed in on a $.50 (or any other amount of money that isn’t especially impressive for you), this is the best time to give the gamble feature a try. You certainly won’t miss $.50 if your guess is unsuccessful.

When Should I Avoid The Gamble Feature?

When you earn a big win, it is best to avoid clicking on the gamble feature – unless you’re a big risk taker. If you’ve won a $100 or more (or any amount of money that would you like to hold on to), don’t use the gamble feature. While it may seem tempting to turn $100 into $400, it will probably be quite painful to lose that $100 altogether.
