At Slots Temple, we’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about ISIS Friends, the new social network for online gamblers. The gaming media has built it up to be a great new way for players who enjoy the occasional gamble to interact with one another.
Now that the site is open for play, we wanted to give it a try and provide an unbiased review.
Profiles
Profiles on ISIS Friends look a lot like they do on Facebook. Users can add a profile picture and a cover photo to their profiles.
They can update their statuses like they would on Facebook, create photo albums and fill in personal details about themselves.
Socializing
This is where things get interesting. When you play any game, you can see which players have recently played, which players have recently won and which players have been the luckiest while wager on the game.
You can then click on their names and then visit their profiles. From their profile, you can check out their details and photos (like Face-stalking) and message the player.
You can also add them to your ‘groups’. This puts their posts into your news feed, but we’re not entirely sure how to add someone to your friends list. Once you do, you can chat with them using the sidebar like you can on Facebook.
Sharing
When players hit wins or just play particular games, they can post to their own profile. This way, their ISIS Friends can keep up with their progress. It's a fun feature that slots fans will enjoy.
Casino Features
When you strip away all of social network features, you’re still left with a decent online casino site. ISIS Friends makes sure not to depend too much on the social network by offering up promotions such as deposit bonuses and VIP bonuses.
However, there isn't a huge selection of games, so you might be better off at a bigger online casino or free games site.
Would We Come Back?
The jury is still out on that one. The social network feature may lose its novelty after a while, and it may be annoying to receive updates about our friends’ gaming activity all the time (sort of like Farmville notifications).
However, the site could take off. A social network/online casino could be exactly the kind of site that the online gambling market needs – but only time will tell if ISIS Friends thrives.
