Two New Megaways Slots: Temple Tumble and Lightning Strike

We have a feeling that 2019 is going be the “Year of the Megaways” in the online slots world. In just six weeks, we’ve seen the release of four Megaways slots games – two of which were launched within the last couple of days. Relax Gaming and Blueprint Gaming have brought Temple Tumble and Lighting Strike into the online casino market, offering players two new ways to earn impressive cash prizes.

Temple Tumble

Temple Tumble is an Aztec theme online slot from Relax Gaming that takes players on a journey through ancient temples on the hunt for treasure. The game features a 6x6 format and tumbling reels that allow you to hit multiple wins on a single stake.

To trigger the bonus game, you have to destroy all of the blocks on a single spin. You’ll receive 6 free spins and there are three different bonus games to choose from:

- Multipliers: 1x, 2x and 3x multiplier symbols are added activated
- Extra Spins: blocks with 1, 2, 3 extra spins are activated
- Multipliers and Extra Spins: both types of special symbols are activated

This new game brings a fun new twist to the Megaways series with its unique grid format and tumbling reels feature. The game ensures that every spin is an exciting one, and makes for a thrilling online gaming experience.

It’s the second Megaways slot from Relax Gaming (the first was Machina Megaways), and it’s a good one. We hope that this is a sign of more things to come from this developer, as Relax Gaming always seems to do a great job with this particular series.

Lightning Strike

Lightning Strike Megaways comes from Blueprint Gaming, which has been making this style of game for a few months. It was the first developer to license the Megaways mechanic from Big Time Gaming, and has launched several games under the brand like Buffalo Rising and Vikings Unleashed. While most of the Megaways games from Blueprint are fantastic, this one sadly falls a little bit short, we feel.

Aside from the Megaways mechanic, there isn’t too much else going on in this game. Of course, there are 15 625 ways to win and wild re-spins – but, we wish there was just a little bit more. Expanding wilds trigger re-spins, which makes for some generous wins, however, so you’ll enjoy being able to accumulate payouts.

The Mega Spins feature is also new, as it is a prize wheel bonus that allows you to gamble your winnings. It’s triggered after your fifth consecutive win, and you have the chance to keep spinning the wheel to win bigger and better prizes. Essentially, it’s like a Gamble function – but, you can’t trigger it after every win.

As such, Lightning Strike seems to be a slot that aims to appeal to players with more traditional gaming tastes. The Megaways brand can be a little bit intimidating for slots fans who are used to classic gameplay, so this slot simplifies things somewhat to appeal to a wider audience.

So, with this week’s new Megaways releases, we have two very different slots. Each one caters to players with different tastes, and it’s great to see more diversity in this particular slots series.
