Gaming1 weren’t too sure whether they were making a slots game about the Amazon rainforest, Aztec temples or the Amazonian female warriors who drove terror into the hearts of the Ancient Greeks. So we have a tribeswoman in a bikini, a temple in a rainforest clearing and the call of tropical birds as you spin the reels. Actually, there’s some quiet musical accompaniment, although it rather gets drowned out by the sound of Wilds landing in the game. It’s all a bit haphazard, and the graphics aren’t the greatest - and what on earth is the screaming skull all about?

Amazon Fierce Bonus Features & Free Spins

It doesn’t take very long to realise that Amazon Fierce could have been called Book of Amazon - the game uses an identical mechanic, from the combined Wild/Scatter symbol to the Expanding Symbols in the Free Spins bonus round.

Of course, this is great news if you love free spins and expanding wilds. Although the Expanding Symbol actually pays out more like a Scatter, but the point is it expands and rewards you with generous cash payouts, according to the game’s paytable.

As a Wild the Bonus symbol can stand in for all other game symbols - the only icon it can’t substitute for is the Expanding Symbol in the bonus feature. It’s also pays out cash prizes of its own for landing three, four or five of a kind across a payline. But as a Scatter it activates the game’s Free Spins bonus round.

You’ll receive 10 Free Spins, but before they start a giant wheel spins to decide which symbol will be your Special Symbol during the feature. When that symbol appears on the reels and can link up with others to create wins, it expands across the entire reel, potentially creating multiple wins.

Overall Review

Gaming1 doesn’t always produce the best graphics, but it can usually be relied upon to deliver some exciting gameplay with interesting bonus features. Yet it never seems to quite come together in Amazon Fierce. The game’s theme seems very muddled, the mechanics are a direct lift from the Book Of series of games and the game sounds have been so badly thought out that it all sounds a cacophony at times, which had us reaching for the mute button. We’re not saying don’t play Amazon Fierce, but it’s definitely not the best production from this software development team.
