The design is colourful and slick, although it might feel a little dated to some. There are 20 variable paylines, so you can choose how many lines to bet on, giving you plenty of flexibility. Theme, graphics & soundtrack 

With its game show theme, Showcase stands out from the crowd. While there are plenty of games based on popular TV game shows - Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, The Price is Right online slot, Wheel of Fortune etc - there aren't many set within a fictional game show.

This slot certainly has novelty value and even invites you to select the contestant you wish to play as when you launch the game. The game is set up as a standard TV game show, with the host on one side of the screen, the contestant (you) on the other, and the reels in the middle. 

The graphics are fairly basic at first glance but there are animations as things happen within the slot; for example, the characters move around and react to what is happening on the reels, which is a fun touch. The game has a cartoonish feel, which suits the style of the slot but might not satisfy anyone who loves cinematic and lifelike graphics when they play slots.

The game's soundtrack is slightly irritating and becomes more so over time, as it has constant background music and lots of game show-like sound effects as the reels spin and fall into position. Luckily, you can toggle the sound effects and music off in the game's settings if it all gets too much for you.

How to play Showcase

This is an easy game to play and there are some fun touches to keep it engaging. Here are step-by-step instructions to help you get started:

1. Launch the slot game and wait for the intro screens to finish loading.
2. You will be shown two characters on the screen. These are the contestants and one of them will represent you in the game. Choose who you prefer to play as by clicking the relevant character.
3. The game will now open properly and your chosen character will be standing on the screen alongside the game show host. Locate the lines display at the bottom of the screen and use the up and down arrows to choose how many lines you want to play. You will need to bet on all 20 for the biggest chance of landing a win.
4. Next, go to the total bet display and again use the up and down arrows to scroll through the bet amounts. When you are happy with the total bet amount displayed, you are good to go.
5. Hit the spin button and the game will start. 

Bet sizes & paytable wins 

The smallest bet possible in Showcase is just two coins. To bet this amount, select one payline and the minimum total bet of two coins per line. The maximum bet available is 24,000 coins; however, this might change across different sites if you play for real money. 

• The largest possible win from a single payline is an impressive 5,000 coins, courtesy of five male contestants on a payline. 
• The male game show host will pay out 500 coins for five, while the female host lands you 350 for five. 
• The female contestant pays out 250 for five symbols. 
• The lowest-paying symbols are the playing cards, all of which pay out five coins for three symbols and 75 to 100 coins for five on a payline. 

Showcase bonus features 

Free spins

To trigger the free spins, you will need to land three scatters on the reels. You will be awarded 15 free spins initially and will have the chance to re-trigger the free spins during your free games. Free spins are played on the same reels as the base game; however, all wins are tripled, giving you the chance to land some decent payouts if you are lucky. 

Bonus round

The bonus round is triggered when the bonus wheel lands on reels two and four on an active payline. You will be shown a bonus wheel and invited to spin it.
