Introduction
Indi is a slot developed by G Gaming.
G Gaming have taken inspiration from the unsinkable Indiana Jones movie franchise, but the twist is that our heroine is supposed to be Indiana’s daughter Indi.
The trademark hat and whip are present, and Indi is engaged in an archaeological hunt for priceless Egyptian artefacts. While the idea in itself is nothing new and has much in common with similar explorer themed slot games like the Book of Dead slot, the Spielberg echo is a nice touch.
Indi uses a standard 6x3 grid with 10 paylines. There are four high symbols: Indi, the Pharaoh, the Eye of Horus, and Ra the golden bird; plus five low symbols, Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and 10.
The scatter symbol is the Book of the Scarab and the wild is a scene featuring two flaming torches and two scarab beetles flexing their wings.
Theme, graphics and soundtrack
Almost inevitably, the designers have opted for instantly recognisable Ancient Egyptian imagery.
That means you see a background of an Egyptian temple with statues of Anubis, the dog-god, flanking the reels.
Look closely and you will realise they are not quite what they seem because they are never entirely still: heads and hands gently moving, bodies swaying - all slightly spooky. The overwhelming colour is gold, but not in brash hues - it’s actually quite tasteful, with nice blue counterpoints.
The reels are also blue with boldly drawn symbols. The symbols have some attractive animation and flashes of extra colour when they land in a payline.
As for the soundtrack, it is much as you would expect, with faint hints of the martial rhythms and musical motifs of the Indiana Jones theme, but in a minor key, all played on blaring brass instruments.
Indi RTP and variance
Indi has an RTP of 95.2% which is a little ungenerous. The variance is not recorded but it appears to be low to medium with moderate wins occurring fairly frequently.

Free Spins
The Book of Scarab symbol is a scatter symbol.
Three or more Books that appear in any positions on any reels will win you 8 free spins.
On any free spin, three scattered Books will extend the free-spin sequence by an additional 8 free spins. At the beginning of a round a symbol is designated randomly to act as the expanding symbol. This can then cover an entire reel and may trigger some substantial wins.

Gamble Feature
The gamble feature is available at any point in the game. To the right of the spin button you will see the options buttons to gamble or collect. When you land a winning line you can choose to collect or gamble.
If you choose to gamble, you must then bet on the colour of the face-down card, which gives you a 50% chance of doubling your winnings or losing them.

G Gaming's young team seems to be genuinely committed to the possibilities of online gaming and they are clearly serious about becoming significant developers.
Indi is not a bad effort. It has a certain self-confidence to co-opt such an iconic movie connection and the visuals are quite classy, neither too cartoonish nor too portentous. What lets the game down is the lack of much in the way of bonus features. It really wouldn’t take much in the way of programming to add some more interesting elements like multipliers, mystery rounds or a wheel of fortune.
