If you listen very carefully you can catch the odd recognisable Chinese pentatonic note sequence, but mostly it sounds like 1980s synthesizer pop with a drumbeat straight out of Material Girl. There’s nothing terrible about that but it does rather dampen the atmosphere. It may be that the music makes sense in the environment of Taiwan where KA Gaming is based so perhaps our reaction is unfair.

How to play Lucky Casino

1. Click the Spin button or press the space bar to begin spinning the reels using the current total bet value.

Lucky Casino review: our verdict

Our first reaction was slight apprehension at yet another indeterminate Chinese themed game, but actually the choice of symbols is rather more interesting than most. The fact that its developers are from Taiwan, China’s besieged island neighbour, perhaps accounts for its originality. It looks good and sounds odd, but if we are to judge it on its gameplay and interesting features we’d have to confess to being slightly underwhelmed. Beyond some pretty standard base game play it really only offers the free spins, topped up with the brief Sic Bo round. Moderately entertaining.
