Theme, Graphics and Soundtrack

Travel is the main theme in KA Gaming's Modern 7 Wonders slot. The transparent reels sit in front of the globe, with a starlit map of the world superimposed on the background. The 7 modern wonders are all represented in the higher tier symbols: the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, the stepped pyramid at Chichén Itzá, the Khaznah at the ancient city of Petra, Machu Picchu in Peru, the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, and the Coloseum in Rome. The wild is symbolised by a passport which has a great animation when it forms part of a win, and the scatter is represented by a camera. The aeroplane details either side of the reels add a nice touch to the theme. There's no idle soundtrack in this slot, although the reels are musical when they spin.

Modern 7 Wonders RTP and Variance

The RTP was not available at the time of writing. The variance is also unknown, but KA gaming state that there's a high win frequency which suggests a medium to low volatility. 
 

How to Play Modern 7 Wonders

Before you start the game, take a moment to familiarise yourself with the game set-up, controls and functions with our simple guide:

1. When the game loads, you'll be invited to select your bet straight away. Click away from the table to accept the default or select another bet amount. You can change your choice at any time by selecting the 'new bet' button below the reels. To select maximum bet, choose the 'max bet' button. Note, there's no confirmation button so by touching 'max bet' you will immediately spin the reels for a bet of 300 coins, so be sure you have sufficient credits in your balance.

Bet Sizes & Paytable Wins 

Bet sizes range between 0.01 and 5 coins per line. As there are 60 fixed paylines, bets for each spin ranges between 0.60 and 300 coins per spin. The highest paying symbol on the paytable is the Great Wall of China, which will pay out 150 coins for 5 of a kind on a 6 coin total bet, but the wild outshines that with a 500 coin win on a 6 coin total bet.

Modern 7 Wonders Free Games Bonus Feature

Three or more scatters will trigger a generous 15 free spins. These can be retriggered multiple times during the bonus feature. Any winning line that includes a wild will give a random multiplier that will multiply the win between 1 and 3 times. Wilds and scatters will still pay during the bonus feature but any winning lines of wilds only will not be eligible for the multiplier. 

Modern 7 Wonders Review

Modern 7 Wonders is one of the more straightforward of the KA Gaming slots available to try, in a collection of more than 100 games. While the RTP and variance are unknown, KA Gaming's site suggests frequent wins, however on our test run it didn't feel any more frequent than average. It took over 200 spins to trigger a free spins bonus, and it didn't retrigger. 

The artwork and animations were good but the sound was disappointing. There's no background soundtrack, although music does play when the reels spin, with vague influences from different parts of the world. When holding for autoplay the music from each spin cuts off the the sound from the previous spin, resulting in a jarring mess, and the experience seems better with the sound turned off. 

If you like a no-nonsense video slot with more traditional layout and features then Modern 7 Wonders fits the bill.
