Theme, graphics & soundtrack 

Like the Rainbow Riches Cluster Magic slot, this is an Irish-themed slot based on the idea of finding the legendary leprechaun-guarded pot of gold at the end of a rainbow on the Emerald Isle. The soundtrack is a typical Irish jig, and the four-leaf clovers are well-suited to the theme. The action seems to be set in a magical Irish copse in which clover of all colours blooms. These clover plants match on reels surrounded by a traditional golden Celtic-style frame.

Rainbow Gold review: our verdict

You don’t need to worry about understanding all the rules about a plethora of bonus features if you choose to play this three-reel online slot, as it doesn’t have any. This is as simple a slot as you can get, from the small number of symbols and paylines to the lack of features and any sort of added extras. 

The only real feature of this game is the fact that you can choose how many credits you want to play on each spin and how much you want your bets to be worth. The game does have an extremely wide betting range and the maximum stake should more than satisfy you if you like your spinning to have a high-rolling edge. The high volatility may also satisfy you if you find excitement in simply waiting for decent wins to roll in. We are not sure that some players will enjoy this, however, especially given how few symbols and design features there are to keep the interest levels high as you play.

This is not a bad-looking slot and there is nothing wrong with its theme or design. The only real downside for many people will be its sheer simplicity; however, there is no doubt that there will be other people who yearn for the days of old-fashioned bricks and mortar arcades and slots and those who simply enjoy a super-pared-down online spinning experience. This game didn’t capture our attention for very long but if you like the simpler things in life, this may still be a good game for you to try.
