There are over a dozen games in the Rainbow Riches series, but Barcrest just keeps them coming. Each one introduces new gameplay and players do appreciate the variation so we don’t mind that there is such an abundance of Rainbow Riches slots in the gaming world.

Rainbow Riches Cluster Magic is the next slot in the series, and we’re happy to welcome it into the fold. Like Rainbow Riches Megaways, this game really brings something new and unique to the collection all sorts of interesting new gameplay.

Theme and Graphics

Rainbow Riches (which is surely part of the Rainbow Riches series) Cluster Magic brings a new look to the familiar aesthetics of the usual Rainbow Riches games. There’s a more cartoony look about this, and even the leprechaun has been given a makeover – which was much-needed, in our opinion.

We really like the new look of this slot, as it has a more of a social gaming vibe. It will be interesting to see if Barcrest carries it over to newer games in the Rainbow Riches series.

RTP and Variance

The RTP (return to player) of Rainbow Riches Cluster Magic is 96.34%, which is fairly standard in today’s slots. It’s also a medium/high volatility game.

How to Win

As a cluster-based slot, there are no paylines in Rainbow Riches: Cluster Magic – and, you can wager between .20 coins and 50 coins per spin. Instead of having to land matching symbols in a row, they have to appear in groups of five or more in order to result in a win. The most generous symbol in the game is the leprechaun, who pays out a prize of 50x for any combination of 10 symbols or more.

Whenever you land a win, a cascade will occur so new symbols will fall on to the screen and provide you with the opportunity to land more prizes. Each subsequent cascade also opens up more spaces on the reels to allow you to land wins in more ways.

Free Spins and Bonuses

If you manage to open up all of the available spaces on the reels, you’ll trigger the bonus game. This means that you have to hit 6 wins on a single cascade.  There are three different rounds available, decided by a prize wheel at the start of the bonus – but, you can also gamble your bonus to trigger a different one:

• Infinity Games: a free spins round that results in more free spins whenever you hit a win. This means that the bonus game can just keep going and going – up to 250 spins. There is also an increasing multiplier that jumps with every cascade, with no ceiling. You can’t retrigger this round – but you’ll get a consolation prize of 10x if you score less than that in the bonus.
   
• Persisting Wilds: a free spins round where two wilds are added on each cascade. Even when a wild is involved in a win, it will remain on the reels for the next cascades, until a new spin is started. You can retrigger 8 free spins after 6 cascades in a row.
   
• Wild Magic: a free spins round where between 4 and 16 wilds are added to the reels. 6 cascades in a row will trigger 4 more free spins.

Overall Review

Rainbow Riches Cluster Magic from Barcest is definitely going to be a big hit among all types of slot players. Even though it has a the more unusual cluster format, it will appeal to classic gaming fans as well, since they’ll be familiar with the Rainbow Riches theme – and, there are plenty of exciting bonuses available.

The game provides some fantastic winning potential, as well. Even though it’s a higher volatility slot, Rainbow Riches: Cluster Magic isn’t the kind of game where you’ll deplete your balance in between wins. In fact, the free spins bonus is much easier to trigger than in other cluster games that we’ve played – which is something that will definitely keep you on your toes.

The three bonuses are pretty wonderful, too. The Infinity Games bonus is, by far, the worst of the bunch – but you can land some amazing payouts if you end up on a winning streak. It was more worth it for us to gamble our bonus until we got the Wild Magic or Persisting Wilds free spins game – but, the potential to have up to 250 spins in one go is still pretty tempting.

Rainbow Riches: Cluster Magic is a must-play slot. Whether you’re a classic slots fan who prefers the original Rainbow Riches slot or not, this is a game that you don’t want to miss. It’s lots of fun with a well-known theme and lots of fun gameplay on offer.
