Introduction

There are 10 colourful base game symbols of various shapes and colours, like a yellow heart, red belly bean, orange lollypop head and pink flower. The multicoloured swirl is the wild, which substitutes all symbols to help generate winning combinations.

A win is formed with 3 or more adjacent matching symbols that touch vertically or horizontally on the reels. After the payout, the symbols burst and disappear so that the symbols above can drop down and new symbols can fall from the top. You'll notice some spots on the grid are greyed out and disabled. For each additional round, 4 of the current disabled spots will be enabled until all spots are enabled, and additional winning combinations will explode in each round until no further winning combinations are possible. After the payout of each round is made, the applied win multiplier will increase by 1x, up to a maximum 5x.

Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

This is a food themed slot for those with a sweet tooth. The game is centred in the middle of the screen when playing on a desktop/laptop to look like a mobile screen. The background is a blur of colour, while the game itself features candy floss pinks, sprinkles and lollipops. The 6x6 grid is likewise vibrant, while the symbols look colourful and glossy, almost good enough to eat. 

A tinkly soundtrack injects some care-free happiness into the game. This is a happy-go-lucky kind of slot with slick contemporary aesthetics and upbeat sounds to whisk you away from reality as you spin the reels.

This has a 94.35% RTP, which is rather disappointing and below the 96% average we prefer to see. Unfortunately the volatility isn’t known, but from our own gameplay we’d anticipate reasonable variation in terms of payouts so perhaps a low to medium variance.

Sweet 666 Review: Overall

There’s no denying that this is a cheerful, colourful slot. We like the contemporary aesthetics and glossy symbols, and it’s a simple enough slot to play while still being a little different to the norm with the 6x6 format. 

The cascading wins and multipliers keep each spin full of anticipation, though trying to get 6 consecutive wins to trigger free spins seems at first blush more challenging than some slots that require 3-of-a-kind symbols.

If you can scoop 6 consecutive wins then you’ll be better placed for bigger wins with the free spins feature and a top 7x win multiplier. However, this singular feature may not be enough for those who like more diversity and intrigue. The RTP at 94.35% is a bit disappointing and the minimum stake may still be rather high for the budget players, but the max stake could definitely tempt the higher rollers. It’s a sweet slot, but it may not have as much longevity of gameplay as some.
