Introduction 

Travel back in time and enter a 17th-century Tap House, where highwaymen meet to plan their dastardly deeds. This five-reel, three-row slot has a bonus round with 10 Free Spins and is unusual among our collection of free slots in that it's played on a single line three-reel layout and a new set of symbols. Scatters appear on reels 1, 3 and 5 during the base game. Should only two Scatters land, the third reel will re-spin for an extra chance to trigger the bonus. Wilds appear on all reels during the base game and the bonus game. 

Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack 

Tap House is a slot based on a lively tavern full of drinkers that is hiding something sinister within its walls. The base game represents a busy and vibrant establishment with brightly coloured symbols showing patrons enjoying their beers, as well as a barmaid, a barstool, a pint of ale and playing card symbols from Ace to 10. A cheery violin tune plays in the background. The bonus game opens up a dark and shadowy scene in the hostelry with the smiling patrons replaced with hooded figures hunched over the tables. The symbols are switched for a completely different set on a smaller reel layout. These include the barman, the highwayman, gold coins, a cutlass and a pistol, with blank symbols shown with a slashed red 'X'. 

Tap House RTP and Variance

The RTP is set at 94%, while the variance begins at medium to high in the base game, increasing to high during the bonus round.

How to Play Tap House

1. The game loads to a splash screen which gives an overview of the bonus feature. You can opt to mute the sound before you start the game. Tap anywhere to begin. 
2. Use the Menu button, Autoplay, Bet button or Paytable buttons to access the settings page, which has a range of tabs so you can familiarise yourself with the game and customise its settings.
3. The Settings tab gives you control over audio settings, turbo spin options and space bar operation.
4. Adjust your bet using the betting tab.

Three Scatters trigger the Tap House Free Spins feature. The 5x3 layout is replaced by a 3x1 layout and a new set of symbols, and 10 Free Spins are granted. Wilds are present in the Free Spins round, but there's no re-trigger.

Tap House Review

Tap House is a medium- to high-volatility slot with a no-frills 10 Free Spins bonus round and a respin feature on the base game. On our test run we managed to trigger one bonus, but it yielded no wins. Although the symbols on the Free Spins were totally different from those in the base game, there's no great difference in the size of the possible winnings between base and bonus games except the rare chance of three Wilds winning you 22,500x your bet on the bonus. Overall we found Tap House's basic features disappointing, but it's important to note that it's not a typical example of every Arcadem slot, and some of their other games are well worth trying. If you like a slot with a tavern theme but are looking for lower variance and more interesting features, then WMS's Bier Haus slot may fit the bill.
