Theme, Graphics and Soundtrack

It is very difficult to pin down the theme and the look of Triple Star. The grid is smartly presented with bright, bold symbols. Coloured squares to either side of the grid will show each pay line if you click on them, but the animation is unspectacular.

Perhaps the most puzzling aspect is trying to work out exactly where the game is notionally set. The little we can see of the background suggests we are in some kind of dusty old building - maybe a disused casino or theatre - which is festooned with cobwebs and plagued by glowing flying insects. You’ll have to tear yourself away from this mystery and concentrate on the movement of the reels, the thumping sound effects and the ominous ambient soundtrack.

How to Play Triple Star

1. Click the Spin button when you want to start a game, or go to the three-bar settings menu icon to set the space bar as an alternative to the spin button.
2. Press Spin again to stop the reels.
3. Select Bet amount to set the bet level from 0.2 to 100.
4. Selecting Auto-play will take you into the auto-play settings menu. This allows you to set the number of spins - from 10 to 1000. 
5. Advanced auto-play settings allow you to set the game to stop auto-play after any win of any size, whenever the free spins are triggered, when a single win exceeds a set figure, when a single win exceeds a set figure, if your balance increases by a set figure and if your balance decreases by a set figure.
6. Press Stop Auto-play to exit auto-play mode at any time. You can also use the space bar to stop auto-play, as long as this has been enabled in the settings menu.
7. The balance meter at the bottom left of the screen displays your current balance, which is constantly updated.
8. Click the tortoise to enter normal, fast or ultra-fast play.
9. All wins are paid out for combinations of three or more of the same symbol from left to right and right to left. Only the highest win per payline is paid out except when the wild symbol forms a winning combination with two different symbols
10. Wild symbols substitute for all symbols. Wild expands and holds the entire reel and then awards one free re-spin. All previously held reels will be held again. Wilds appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 only.

Triple Star Bonus Features

Gamble Feature

The Gamble feature gives players the opportunity to double each win. After the gamble feature starts, there are three options:

• The player may collect the win and end the gamble feature
• The player may collect half the win and continue to play the gamble feature with the other half.
• The player may continue to play the gamble feature with the total win by selecting one of two symbols

After the player has chosen a symbol, the gamble feature operates a draw to reveal the winning symbol. The player may end the gamble feature at the end of each round. If the player should lose in the gamble feature, then the win value indicated in the current win counter will be lost and the player is returned to the base game. The gamble feature consists of seven rounds.

Despite the confusing visualisation this is a fairly straightforward slot based on the traditional slot machine. Features are limited, but there are opportunities for some big wins, and it’s easy to play so a good option for beginners. The gamble feature is a welcome inclusion.
