Lots of Egyptian themed slots feature Cleopatra, sphinx, scarabs and ankh - and this one contains all of them! The graphics probably won't blow you away and they actually look slightly dated, especially when compared to some of the latest releases from the likes of NetEnt and Play n Go. This isn't so bad though when you realise this is simply a design choice and that the game is very sleek and modern to play. The soundtrack is petty minimal - great news if you don't like too many bells and whistles while you play. There is some background music, but this only plays at certain times, such as when you are one symbol away from triggering a special feature. The rest of the soundtrack is made up of subtle sound effects that pipe up when you spin the reels, land a win or when certain special symbols fall on the reels.

How to Play Wealth of the Nile

This is a simple game to play, despite the layout and buttons being slightly different to most other slots. In fact, you might miss the spin button altogether, despite it clearly saying "spin". It isn't so much a button as a section of the screen you click on in order to start the reels spinning.

Before that though, you'll need to set up your bet. The default coin size is 1, but you can change the number of lines you bet on and also the number of coins you bet on each line. You can bet on just a single line if you wish, all the way up to the maximum of 40 lines. Of course, if you want to give yourself the best chance of winning on each spin, you should bet on all 40 lines each time you play. The option to adjust the number of lines is nice to have, however.

Once you've decided how many lines to bet on, it's time to choose your bet amount per line. You can bet just one coin per line if you like (making the minimum bet on this game just one coin if you bet one coin per line on a single line). The maximum number of coins per line is 20, so you've got a great deal of flexibility when it comes to deciding on your bet size. When you're happy with your total bet as displayed on screen, hit spin and you're off. There is a max bet button that will automatically ramp up your bet to the maximum number of lines and maximum coins per line but don't use this unless you're happy with the max bet size!

There's an autoplay feature if you want to set up a predetermined number of spins in advance and then just sit back and watch.

Bet Sizes & Maximum Win

We've already covered the bet sizes, mentioning that one coin is the minimum bet size and 800 coins is the maximum bet size (if you bet the maximum number of coins on all 40 lines). The game's maximum wins come from landing winning combos of two or more matching symbols, from left to right. Most symbols pay out on combos of three or more but some, such as the wild and sphinx, pay out from two. The sphinx is the highest paying regular game symbol, and five in a combo on an active payline will net you 450x your bet. The wild is also a big payer and will give you 1,000x your bet for five on a single active payline. Of course, you can win on multiple paylines in any given spin, so the maximum win will be much bigger than this.

Bonus Features of Wealth of the Nile

Three or more scatters in the base game trigger the Wealth of the Nile feature. You'll be given 15 free spins, but can add an additional 15 if you land another three scatters in the free game round. Wins in the free spins bonus round are paid out at double the wins in the base game.

The second bonus feature is the Wheel Power Game. This is triggered when the bonus wheel symbol appears on reels 1 and 5 in the same spin. You'll be invited to spin the wheel and can build up impressive cash prizes in this bonus feature.
