Infinity Reels - List of Slots that have Infinity Reels

Infinity Reels

Infinity Reels are an innovative created by ReelPlay, which cause reels to expand as you land winning symbols. This new mechanic has really redefined slots gameplay, providing players with a whole new way to experience spinning reels.

How Infinity Reels Work

Infinity Reels slots feature reels that expand horizontally, so you can continue to hit wins. Wins are made by landing three or more matching symbols across the reels and, if you land a winning symbol in the right-most reel, another reel will be added on to the end.

The new reel will spin and, if any of the symbols on it can join the winning combination or create a new winning combination, another new reel will be added. This then continues until no more wins are created.

Some games are a little bit different, but the overarching concept is still the game. For example, Martian Miner Infinity Reels expands downwards. To hit wins, you have to land at least one matching symbol in the bottom-most reel.

Another game that differs slightly is Emerald’s Infinity Reels. Here, the reels don’t physically expand but you build upon your wins in the same way as you would in other games with this mechanic.

Who Makes Infinity Reels Slots?

Infinity Reels were originally developed by ReelPlay – but, it wasn’t long before other studios wanted to get a piece of the pie. So, ReelPlay soon began licensing out this innovative mechanic.

Now, you’ll find numerous slot developers across the web created games with Infinity Reels, including:

  • PG Soft
  • BB Games
  • Boomerang Studios
  • SG Digital
  • Relax Gaming

Additional Infinity Reels Features

In each Infinity Reels slot, you’ll find different gameplay variations. Each one is designed to mix things up a little and provide additional winning potential.

Increasing Multipliers

In games like Zodiac Infinity Reels and Bali Vacation Infinity Reels, you’ll find an increasing multiplier mechanic. Every time a new reel is add, the win multiplier increases.

In these games, this multiplier will usually carry over if you trigger the free spins bonus. On top of this, the multiplier won’t reset in between bonus spins.

Jackpot

In games like Thor Infinity Reels and El Dorado Infinity Reels, you’ll encounter an Infinity Jackpot. If you manage to add 12 reels to these games, a prize worth 888x your stake will be awarded.

Megaways

In some cases, you’ll find that ReelPlay has doubled up on the special mechanics. Tiki Infinity Reels and Odin Infinity Reels are games that have Megaways, as well! So, each reel will display a variable number of symbols to chance the number of ways to win on each spin.

Not To Be Confused With Infinireels

In 2020, there was a little bit of confusion between ReelPlay’s Infinity Reels and NetEnt’s Infinireels. It’s important players know that each studio arrived at their mechanics independently and that it isn’t the case that one company copied the other.

While it might sound like both mechanics are completely the same, there are some big differences. Both Infinity Reels and Infinireels have expanding reels that are triggered by landing winning combinations – but, that’s where the similarities end.

In the Infinity Reels mechanic from ReelPlay, you have to land five or more matching symbols in a combo. In NetEnt’s Infinireels, just three matching symbols are awarded.

Another difference lies in how expanding reels are triggered. In Infinireels, reels expand on all wins but in Infinity Reels, you have to land a matching symbol in the right-most reel.

In NetEnt’s Infinireels, you have to make another bet in order to keep spinning using the expanding reelset. However, in ReelPlay’s Infinity Reels, you get respins as the reels expand – so, it all occurs in a single spin.
