There’s gold galore in this fast-paced game of crime and suspense. Gold Stealer takes place inside a vault of riches where the plucky anti-heroine has broken in to help herself to treasure. It’s clear from the game screen that she has sneaked inside the house of someone very wealthy; we can see an ornate spiral staircase in the background and decorative wall lamps. The reel screen features all sorts of priceless treasures and heirlooms; there are rings, watches, cash and other valuable trinkets in amongst the traditional card playing symbols. Gold Stealer Animations & Audio

This is one of the simpler games in the extensive CQ9 catalogue and, as such, the animations and audio are a little lacklustre in comparison. That’s not to say there’s anything wrong with either of these aspects - they’re just not as fancy as some of the other games. The animation is very fast in this game, which gives it a rapid pace, but unfortunately the win notification likes to take its time when playing out, and it does interrupt the gameplay a bit.

The soundtrack audio is nice: it’s quite funky with a hint of old school crime movie jazz and suspense. It’s on a short loop, though, so it plays over quite a lot during the game and it can get old very quickly. Thankfully, you have the option to turn it off in the game by clicking on the button with three horizontal lines.

How to Play Gold Stealer

There are four buttons and one info bar in this game, so it’s super easy to start playing. The info bar at the bottom of the screen tells you your current credit balance, any winnings you have received and your current total bet. Use the plus and minus toggle buttons on the right of the screen to set your betting stake at a level at which you’re comfortable, then just press the large CQ9 logo button to set the reels in motion! The playing card symbols are the lowest valued, whilst the gems and jewels are the higher-paying ones. Winning combinations come from matching three or more of any one kind of symbol across any of the active paylines from left to right. The Wild symbol is a gold bar, and it can substitute for any other symbol except the Scatter. What’s more, this Wild can randomly expand to fill a whole reel, granting you even more big wins.

The Scatter symbol is the door to the gold vault, and when it shows up on your reel screen three or more times, the door will unlock and reward you with free spins. Though there’s nothing really wrong with this game, we expected something with such a title to be a little more grandiose. In comparison to other titles from the same developer, this game comes in as decidedly average. The rewards are great but not particularly unique, but the return to player percentage seems to be very fair. The theme to this game isn’t very strong, which can be in its favour as it will appeal to a wider audience.
