We are in the kitchen of an Italian fast-food joint in this online slot from game designer Caleta Gaming. The action is played out on a classic 5x3 reel set which has 40 pay lines.

There are 10 paying symbols with the highest payers being the Hungry Chef logo, steak, chicken, fish, pasta and soup. The remaining symbols are salad, wine, salt and pepper, and spatula and spoon.

The game also has three other symbols which appear on the reels to create special features. First of all, the wild symbol in the shape of a saucepan appears across the reels and substitutes for all others apart from the scatter and bonus symbols.

The scatter, which generates free spins, is represented by the eponymous chef. He also appears on all the reels, and 3, 4 or 5 symbols will win the player 10, 30 or 60 free spins respectively.

Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

Jolly Italian music, played on a nickelodeon, and the chatter of customers in the background greet us as the game opens in the kitchen of the Hungry Chef. The reels are set on the front of an oven range, and the design is cartoon-like. In the background we see the rest of the kitchen, with some of the ingredients and kitchenware which will appear in the game.

This is a pretty straightforward slot, but here are a few tips to get you started.

This is a fun game from Caleta Gaming, with a food-based theme and cheery music to hurry the reels along. The low to medium volatility rating means that regular small wins crop up fairly regularly, but you can still boost your bankroll in the base game.

The bonus game is fun, if simple, and you can soon rack up some wins here too if your luck holds. The big plus here is that you get to hang on to your winnings when the mouse lands on a plate, rather than losing the lot, so you can carry on choosing ingredients until the game ends.

One should not expect too much more from this kind of slot, but maybe another bonus game might have been a possibility.
