Magic Lady is an online slot with a twist on the classic fruit slot theme that’s developed by Apollo Games. Played on a grid of only 3x3 with no traditional paylines, the game offers a wild as well as a gamble feature and free spins to make things more enticing.
Magic Lady is an online slot developed by Apollo Games. It’s based on the traditional fruit slot theme but has no actual paylines and only uses 3 reels with 3 rows. The way players can win on this slot depends on them landing 4 or more identical symbols anywhere on the reels rather than on a payline. When there is a win, the option to play the exciting gamble feature also becomes available.
There are 8 regular symbols appearing on the reels. There’s the lucky 7, melons, plums, gold bars, grapes, oranges, lemons, and cherries to play for. In addition, the game hosts the Magic Lady herself as the wild symbol.
The Magic Lady wild symbol will substitute for any other symbol, but it only ever appears on the centre reel. Her appearance can be something of a special event, as it might potentially lead to the initiation of the sought-after free spins bonus round.
For any players who might be considering playing this slot with real money, it’s a good idea to spend some time playing the free version first to check it out. There are also other free play slots that are fun to play, too.
Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack
Magic Lady sticks quite closely to the traditional fruit slot aesthetics. We are instantly greeted by all the expected fruit slot symbols of yesteryear, bringing nostalgic recollections for many. The graphics are all colourful and bright and are very basic with no animation or embellishment, which is quite in keeping with the retro nature of the theme.
The soundtrack resembles something you’d expect to hear on a TV game show and is a great way to add interest and anticipation.
Magic Lady RTP and Variance
The theoretical return to player value has not been published online for this slot, although it would seem to fall somewhere within the average parameters. In terms of variance, we thought that it was a medium-high variance slot as many of the potential prizes were larger and infrequent.
How to Play Magic Lady
See if you can catch the elusive Magic Lady in a few short steps:
- Set your preferred bet level by pressing on the ‘Bet’ window in the bottom right of the screen and then using the + and - buttons to make your selection.
- Once that’s done, you’ll be able to see the relevant paytable amounts. Press the ‘Menu’ button in the bottom left followed by the (second from the top) coin stack icon to see the paytable.
- If you want to, you can turn off audio by pressing the settings cog in the same menu.
- Should you wish to use autoplay, the ‘Autostart’ option is just under the audio settings in the menu.
- For manual spins, press the ‘Start’ button in the bottom right whenever you’re ready.
- Remember: always gamble responsibly and stop playing if the fun stops. We use several self-exclusion tools and timeout functions to assist you but would like to remind you to set yourself sensible limits.
Bet Sizes & Paytable Wins
The minimum stake that can be placed in Magic Lady is 0.20, whilst the maximum you can wager is 60.00. This provides a good range of betting options to suit different players.
Although the paytable shows all the possible amounts you can potentially win, some of the top prizes could include:
- 240,000 on 7s
- 120,000 on melons or gold bars
- 48,000 on plums
That’s assuming, of course, that the maximum bet was placed and that 9 identical symbols filled the gameboard. It is possible for there to be different winning combinations on one spin, such as 5 melons and 4 cherries, for example. In this case, the win amounts for both combinations would be added together and paid at the end of the turn.
Magic Lady Bonus Features
The elusive bonus game in Magic Lady can only be triggered if the Magic Lady wild symbol appears on the centre reel as part of a winning combination. At that point, 7 free bonus spins would be given, and the bonus round would commence. The bonus round will end when all the free spins have been used up.
There’s also a gamble feature that’s part of the base game. Whenever a spin ends with a win, players get the choice of whether to gamble what they’ve won. Be aware that if you want to gamble, you’ll need to be pretty quick to press the ‘Gamble’ button before it disappears again. The game itself is simple; players must guess whether the next card will be red or black to potentially double their win. There’s also the option for the player to only gamble half the win or to walk away at any point by pressing the ‘Take half’ or the ‘Take’ buttons, respectively.
Overall Magic Lady Review
Magic Lady was one of the most fun Apollo Games demo slots that we’ve played. We really liked the Magic Lady, but it would’ve been nice if she wasn’t so shy; it seemed to take a long time to trigger the bonus games.
The game's rules were easy to follow, and we liked that there was a gamble feature included in the base game as this is a feature that’s often missing from slots.
However, we did feel that the variance of the game was fairly high, with mostly infrequent but higher potential payouts on offer. Players might also like to try the Rainbow Riches slot with 20 paylines and a slightly lower variance.
