There are no human or animal characters, which means it lacks a little personality; however, the big top background is original and the animation is fresh, particularly when the mist wilds go up in a puff of smoke. The soundtrack is an electronic approximation of generic circus themes, while the sound effects consist of fairly pleasant trills and thumps.

How to play Mystic Joker

1. Click the spin button to start playing using the current total bet value. 
2. Go to the settings menu, which is denoted by the cog, to alter the bet settings.
3. Press the stop button to stop the reels at any time during a spin to see the outcome. 
4. Press ‘autoplay’ to access the autoplay settings menu. This section will enable you to select the number of spins, ranging from 5 to 20.

One joker wild

When one joker symbol lands on reels one, three and five, a random number of mist wild symbols will materialise on the screen. 

Two joker wild

When two joker symbols land on reels one, three and five, a random number of balloon wild symbols will appear on the screen. It is also possible that one big balloon wild will appear; what’s more, multipliers will be added to these symbols. The four positions that are occupied by the big balloon wild will have the same multiplier. Balloon wild multipliers are applied to payline wins that land in these positions.

Three joker wild free spins bonus

When three joker wilds land on reels one, three and five, the player is awarded ten free spins. During the free spins round, the one or two joker wild feature may be triggered. If three joker wilds should land on the reels, a further five free spins will be awarded.

Joker wilds, mist wilds and balloon wilds substitute for all other symbols. Wild symbol substitution will pay out the highest winning combination according to the details in the paytable.

Mystic Joker review: our verdict

Cheerful and simple are two words that come to mind. Mystic Joker is a very conventional slot and has fairly limited bonus features. It was a little disappointing to find that there isn’t an actual joker in it - just various clown accoutrements and some sweets that seem to have strayed in from another game. It is not a game that demands much in the way of decision-making - for example, there is no gamble feature - but equally, it doesn’t overwhelm you with intense music or extravagant animation. It won’t be for everyone, but it is reasonably diverting.
