There’s nothing easy about war, but 888 Gaming has made their interface as simple as possible. The Great War doesn’t pose too many problems, but here are a few hints to help you through the battle.

Our Verdict

The Great War is a stunning technical achievement. Its sprawling apocalyptic background is a vision of chaos and ruin, so much so that it looks as though it’s been plucked straight from a Hollywood blockbuster. All the terror and scale of war is captured and the sounds complement the carnage perfectly.

Still, we were slightly disappointed to find that 888 had only included one bonus. Thankfully, that’s free spins, so The Great War still has plenty to entice players. The sheer number of paylines (50 is well above average) also goes some way to make up for the lack of other bonus games. Gameplay is fast, exciting, and absorbing against that war-torn background. 

You’ll be hard pressed to find many more cinematic slots than this, but The Great War excels more than just visually. With free spins and plenty of paylines, there’s lots to be unearthed amongst the ruin of the battlefield.
