You always know exactly what you are getting with a luxury slot theme. Tycoon Towers includes all the tropes and images you would normally associate with the high life, including a lavish background, stacks of cash, and one of the most upmarket hotels we have laid eyes on.

The loading screen sets the scene from the off. We see the tycoon - complete with a white beard, bushy moustache and a bright green suit - checking into his hotel carrying a suitcase bulging with cash. A hotel porter greets him as an expensive-looking suite with a palatial staircase, golden elevators and a huge chandelier looms in the background.

The hotel scene remains as the reels appear and is the setting for some luxurious action. Our verdict

Tycoon Towers opens the doors to a world of splendour, wealth and decadence. It is unashamedly ostentatious and all the better for it. The colour of money abounds and the high life has a special allure that is hard to deny.

With this high life in mind, we would have preferred to see a few more bonuses. Free spins, in particular, would have been welcome, but Tycoon Towers saves its generosity for the base game.

Sticky wilds and respins are a formidable combination and there is always a moment of genuine tension as the reels settle. Another wild means another spin, so there is plenty to play for.
