Introduction

Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack 

Australian-themed games are much less commonplace than their Oriental, Aztec, or Western themed counterparts so Wombaroo makes for a refreshing change. 

The graphics are clear and bright, with a kangaroo and a wombat framing the reels against a backdrop of what appears to be Ayres Rock. If you can, try to stick around until 2 wombat scatter symbols land. You will be rewarded by the seldom seem sight of a wombat having some sort of seizure (he is just really pleased you won but it is hilarious to watch!). The kangaroo puts on a rather strange celebratory display as well and looks like he is having some sort of sneezing fit. Other Australian-themed reel symbols are the koala and a bird that looks like a cross between an emu, an ostrich and a cassowary.

The screen erupts into action for any ‘big’ or ‘mega’ win whereby coins appear to fly out of the screen which is rather satisfying. What is less appealing, however, is the background music, which seems a little fast tempo and we imagine most people will press mute sooner rather than later. A plus point, though, is that you can retain the game sounds and mute the music, which is the recommended route to take. This is possible by pressing the plus sign at the side of the ‘spin’ button (which allows you quick access to the settings).

2. Choose your stake. You can bet between 0.40 and 4000 per spin but cannot change the set 20 pay line structure.

The RTP on Wombaroo is a lower than average 95.42%, so patience and perseverance are required to enjoy this game. The 3 scatter symbols can be quite difficult to land though decent sized wins are possible along the way.

Wombaroo Bonus Features & Free Spins 

The bonus features are the real hook in Wombaroo with 3 bonus rounds available.

1. Kangaroo Free Spins - 8 free spins are triggered by 3 Kangaroo scatter symbols landing on reels 1, 3, and 5. During free spins the wilds are sticky and hold in place for the duration of the feature making big wins possible. Kangaroo free spins cannot be retriggered.
2. Wombat Wins - a minimum of 3-coin scatter spins are won by landing Wombat scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. During Wombat Wins gold coins with varying amounts on will land on the reels. If a gold coin lands the spin count goes back to 3 and only ends when all reels are full of coins or no further coins land. The amount of all the coins is won at the end of the feature.
3. Super Feature - every time only 2 of the required 3 scatter symbols land on an individual spin the bar under the ‘Wombaroo’ logo is awarded a notch. Once enough notches are earned (30) and the logo bar is full the Super Feature is triggered. Overall Wombaroo Review 

Wombaroo is a fun animal themed slot game with more than enough bonuses to maintain interest. However, all 3 scatter symbols can take a long time to land but this is compensated by watching the notches under the meter grow. In similar games there is frustration when 2 of the 3 required symbols land but, as with Cleopatra Plus, there is an eventual reward with Wombaroo for near misses.
