You may have noticed some interesting changes to some online slots and online casinos recently, and it’s important to us that you know what’s going on. The Bonus Buy feature on casino games is now being banned on slots in the United Kingdom, due to a new stipulation introduced by the UK Gambling Commission.
What Does This Mean for Players?
With no Bonus Buy function on slots, you won’t be able to purchase direct entry into bonus games. The rest of the gameplay on these slots will remain intact, but you’ll have to trigger the bonus in the usual way – either by landing scatters or filling a bonus metre.
The following games have Bonus Buys, but there's no word yet on whether all developers will have to remove this feature:
- - LeoVegas Megaways (Blueprint Gaming)
- - Valetta Megaways (Blueprint Gaming)
- - White Rabbit (Big Time Gaming)
- - Neon Cluster Wins (Stakelogic)
- - Spinal Tap (Blueprint Gaming)
- - Genie Jackpots Megaways (Blueprint Gaming)
- - Buffalo Rising Megaways (Blueprint Gaming)
- - Vikings Unleashed Megaways (Blueprint Gaming)
- - Dark Vortex (Yggdrasil Gaming)
- - Fat Santa (Push Gaming)
- - Machina Megaways (Kalamba)
- - Book of Gods (Big Time Gaming)
- - Extra Chilli (Big Time Gaming)
- - Rainbow Riches Megaways (SG Digital)
- - 300 Shields Extreme (NextGen)
- - Return of Kong Megaways (Blueprint Gaming)
- - Fishin Frenzy Megaways (Blueprint Gaming)
- - Who Wants to be a Millionaire Megaways (Big Time Gaming)
Currently, most of the games with this bonus feature are no longer available on online casinos. Big name sites like Casumo and William Hill have already taken them down, which is a little bit of a bummer. However, it shows how committed they are to complying with UKGC regulations as soon as possible and keeping players safe.
There is no word yet on when the games will return to online casinos. Seeing as these are some of the most popular games in the slots market, we’d think that developers will be making fast moves to ensure that they’re back online within the next few days.
However, you can still play the free-play versions of these games here at Slots Temple. The Bonus Buy feature is simply greyed out, so you can still play the game but without being able to purchase direct entry into the bonus.
What Does the Gaming Community Think?
Most players don’t really seem to mind that the Bonus Buy function will be removed from slots in the UK. The issue only seems to be with the fact that some of the best games going right now are currently unavailable at online casinos. We’re hoping that will be rectified soon, though.
