Cold Gold wastes no time in warming you up to the theme of this slot, with the initial screen showing a full-on face-off between generals from what we can guess are both the US and Russia. 

The game screen continues the mood with the 5x3-reel grid dividing the screen into two clear halves. On the one side, it’s a soft, pastel, summer beach scene, with rockets nestling amongst the palm trees. On the other, it’s blue, wintery, and the rockets are hidden amongst hardy, evergreen trees. An airship makes its way slowly across the sky from right to left, flying behind the reels.

The game’s main symbols are all distinct characters, such as an astronaut, a female spy, and a scientist, along with the usual number/royal card images. The opposing generals feature on the wilds.

We loved the rock soundtrack, with lots of drum and guitar action. It wouldn’t be out of place on a cop-themed TV show as it definitely helps build tension and atmosphere.
