Introduction to Flora's Secret

For visual appeal, this game is one of the best games we’ve seen, although it may be perceived as a bit too feminine for some players. Everything about this game represents a beautiful country garden when it’s in bloom in the summer. The court symbols are in gold with little flowers attached to them. For example, the Ace has a pink flower at the bottom of its right leg, and the Jack has a pink flower on its curve at the bottom. The other symbols are flowers - beautifully depicted flowers. Flora’s Secret is a great example of a Flowers online slot.

The symbols sit within a wrought-iron gate set within marble pillars. It’s the kind of gate that you might find on at the entrance to a stately home. When you spin and the court symbols tumble, the uprights in the gate have flashing leaves as the symbols come to rest. The gate is set against a backdrop of a deep blue sky, with trees lining the driveway until you get the Wilds and re-spins - then the sky turns pink and purple. It really is beautiful. Gameplay Interactive has really gone to town on the graphics in Flora’s Secret.

We thought the soundtrack was a little twee - unusual for a game by Gameplay Interactive free slots. It sounded a bit like something from the 1950s. When the reels were tumbling, it made the old-fashioned slot machine sound that you used to get back in the sixties and seventies. It didn’t detract from the game, though: we just turned the sound off.

Flora’s Secret can be played for free in demo mode at Slots Temple, which we’d recommend just to get used to it because we found the full game instructions hard to find.

Guide to Playing Flora’s Secret

You can play anything from 0.10 to 40 and, obviously, your win rate varies with the amount of your stake. You can get to change the amount you stake by clicking the three lines (the hamburger) at the bottom left. From there, you click on the cog symbol, and then you move the central slider to change the value. You are given 2000 coins with which to start the game, and each time you spin and lose the value decreases.

When in this screen, click on either the casino chip symbol or the ‘I’ symbol and the pay table comes up.

When the pay table is on the screen, there are three bars beneath it - one of which is gold-coloured. Click on the dark bar next to it and you will see the plan of the winning paylines. As is normal in these games, Flora’s Secret pays from left to right, and only the highest winning combination on each line pays. You can also scroll from screen to screen from either left to right or right to left.

The Wild feature substitutes for all symbols. It appears on reels two, three and four. It can become an Expanding Wild, which is depicted by the vertical word WILD in a beautiful shade of pink decorated with flowers.

When we got the Wild feature up, we managed to score 4000 from a bet of 40, but we’re still not quite sure how we managed it.

Our Verdict

We had high hopes when we saw the game: we loved the sparkling graphics and the beautiful flowers. The way the sky changed colour when the free spins were triggered was a surprise and a joy. And the game itself is huge fun to play. We love the Wilds and the Expanding Wilds. However, what disappointed us a bit was that we didn’t really think we fully got to grips with the game because of the lack of detailed instructions. We did win, several times, especially when we increased our stake. It was fun to see the free spins being triggered. We just didn’t fully understand how we won some of the time. That said, overall, we would recommend Flora’s Secret - just take time to study it in demo mode before you even think about playing for money.
