Theme & Story 

Superheroes are a fairly common theme in online slots but Hero Squad is a bit more unusual. Lightning streaks across the screen, and game symbols take the form of superheroes and mysterious objects. There are also playing card symbols, which is a bit of a shame for those who like the theme to be consistent across all tiles. The graphics are cinematic though, and the animations when you score a win, or when rockets randomly fall onto the screen to turn symbols wild, are great and keep things interesting.

Hero Squad Battle Free Spins

As with most free casino slots, the free spins feature is activated when you land 3 scatter symbols (which only appear on reels 2, 3, and 4). When this round starts, you’ll also have to select a card to choose your hero (who will be battling for you). You’ll also have to choose a card to decide your opponent. When you start the round, you and your opponent will both be given 5 Hit Points each and will be assigned 2 reels (you’ll get reels 1 and 2, and your opponent will get reels 4 and 5). During the round you’ll have a chance to do battle against your opponent, with the aim of removing all of their Hit Points. Every attack on you loses one Hit Point so watch out. When your Hit Point counter gets to 0, the free spin feature ends. The multiplier feature does not reset on each free spin but it does increase each time you attack your opponent, up to a maximum of 5x.

Cascading Reels

In the base game, every time you hit a win, the winning symbols will leave the board and new ones will fall into a place to try and help you score more wins. Your win will also be multiplied by 1 all the time you keep winning, up to a maximum multiplier of 5, to give you the chance of some mighty wins. When no more winning combinations can be made though, the multiplier will reset to zero.

The free spins battle round is a great idea and something which we never have seen in online slots before.
