Introduction

Even the symbols get an industrial makeover. Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

Steampunk is a subgenre within sci-fi, taking on a retro-futuristic style that mixes aspects of the 1800s Industrial Revolution and modern technology with the philosophy, literature and aesthetic of the Victorian era.

Klassik features an industrial backdrop with cogs and reels, with lights, tubes and pressure clocks around the reels. At first glance, the imagery is quite unique, being eye-catching enough to draw the player’s attention to where the action is. However, the aesthetics on desktop actually look pretty unimpressive, with graphics that are more blurred than sharp. It’s very dark, and the lack of detailed precision makes it harder still to really see or appreciate the different elements you’re looking at. In terms of animation, it’s quite understated and basic, with lightning coursing through successful combinations. It feels a little brighter and clearer on mobile, but it’s still not crisp as you’d hope for with a sleek, contemporary video slot.

An upbeat and light dance soundtrack accompanies gameplay, which seems a little at odds with the darker theme. More classic slot sound-effects are triggered by wins. Despite the novel theme, It’s quite a basic slot that sadly fails to impress where the graphics and sound are concerned.

Both the RTP and volatility for Klassik are unknown. While we can’t make any confident estimates, we might anticipate a more medium volatility with variation in payouts, with a tendency perhaps toward lower but more regular wins.

The minimum seems quite high for a simple slot, so this may put off the more casual players. The maximum is incredibly high, but it would satisfy the much high rollers. It's perhaps more likely an issue with credit currency in the demo, so figures may vary if you decide to pay to play with an online casino.

Overall Review

While we like the steampunk novelty, we can’t say we were too impressed by the graphics overall. There’s a lack of atmosphere when playing because of the so-so aesthetics and odd choice for the soundtrack. Gameplay was also a little clunky; we felt that changing wagers takes a rather circuitous route, so we would have preferred a simple adjuster on the user interface.

The RTP and volatility are both unknown, and we wouldn’t want to take a guess at what the average expected return to player would be. Our test drive of the slot suggests it’s likely more medium in terms of volatility. The base game prizes may not seem too amazing, but the more you wager, the more you could stand to win, and the impressive top bet could see some very generous returns. If you’re a fan of bonuses and interesting features, you’ll probably be disappointed with Klassik. If you prefer your games simple and straightforward, you’ll probably find the back-to-basics gameplay more appealing.
