Montezuma (Swintt) is an online video slot developed by Swintt. It has five reels, three rows and ten fixed paylines. Features include an expanding wild, a scatter, free spins and a risk game. The RTP varies, and the volatility is low.

The Montezuma (Swintt) online slot is a South American inspired slot with features you'd expect from most online slots, including expanding wilds, scatters and free spins. Wilds appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 and will expand to cover all symbols on the reels they appear on. The free spins are called Feature Games in this slot, but they work the same way as any other online slots. Find out more in this Montezuma (Swintt) slot review.

Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

Inspired by Montezuma (or Moctezuma), the Aztec emperor that ruled in the 16th century, the reels of the Montezuma (Swintt) slot are encased in a wooden frame with vines growing over it. Mountains and forest can be seen in the background. Shafts of sunlight play over the reels, and an occasional leaf falls in front of them both during play and while the game is idle. The Aztec-inspired soundtrack adds to the atmosphere. Montezuma himself appears as an expanding wild, wearing a colourful headdress and clothing and holding a golden staff with hidden powers. The scatter is an Aztec temple. The high-paying symbols include six different-coloured gems and lower-tier symbols Ace to Jack.

Montezuma (Swintt) Features

Risk Game

The risk game is available in the base game and offers the option to gamble any wins at the end of each spin. Settings for the risk game can be found via the menu icon. The risk game availability can be set for always, never or if the win exceeds certain amounts. The risk game is a simple card prediction game where you can double your winnings by correctly predicting the colour of the next card or quadruple your winnings by predicting the correct suit. An incorrect prediction will lose all winnings.

Feature Games

Feature Games are free spins and are triggered by three scatters. The Feature Games bonus round starts with 12 free games and can be retriggered via the scatters or increased by the wild. One, two or three wilds will add one, two or five extra feature games.

During the feature games, any appearance of a wild will upgrade the lowest gem symbols showing on the reels to the next lowest-paying gem, increasing the chances of bigger wins as the feature progresses.

Montezuma (Swintt) Review

On the surface, Montezuma (Swintt) appears to be a straightforward online slot with a free spin bonus and scatters, but, like SG Gaming's Rainbow Riches slot, there's more to it than meets the eye. There are two different ways to prolong the free spins feature, and the progressive levelling up of the gem symbols combined with the expanding wilds means that the potential wins can be higher. As one of the small but growing collection of Swintt online slot games, it's definitely one for slots fans to try. Alternatively, browse our extensive list of free casino slots for similar features.

What is the variable RTP on Montezuma (Swintt)?

Montezuma (Swintt) is one of an increasing number of online slots which can have its RTP adjusted by the casino site. Whether you're looking for free casino slots or are playing for real money, always check the slot's RTP before playing.

Is there a cap on the risk game in Montezuma (Swintt)?

The short answer - yes, there is. The way it is calculated is more complex than most online slots. There are up to 10 rounds available on the risk game, but these are reduced depending on the size of the wager and which risk game you are playing. The minimum bet is 1 coin and the maximum is 50,000, and the maximum win is 100,000 coins.

How does the levelling up work on Montezuma (Swintt) feature games?

There are six high-tier gem symbols which appear in order on the left-hand side of the reels. If the wild appears during the feature games, the lowest gem symbols (purple and green) are turned into red gems, the next lowest-paying symbol. All purple and green gems on the reels from that point on are replaced by red gems. If a wild appears again, all red gems are turned into orange gems. This progresses throughout the feature until potentially all gems could be turned into the highest-paying diamond symbols.
