Cons

It has five reels and five columns in an expanding grid and cluster wins instead of paylines. It has an RTP of 95.87 per cent, but its variance level is unknown. It is set in what looks like a landscape from a kids’ picture book. It has no scatters, wilds or free spins.

Introduction

As Skywind slot demos go, this is something of a departure. They are well known for Asian themed games, adventure narratives like Skywind's Wild Ride slot and other more sophisticated settings, but here they have embraced the inner child. There’s nothing wrong with that from time to time because variety is a good thing. However, this is a very pared-down slot which doesn’t have a free spins bonus or the usual wilds and scatters, so it will be interesting to see how it performs.

Party Pop has a five-reel, five-column grid with cluster wins. As you progress the grid can expand to 6x6 and 7x7. The minimum bet value is 0.20 and the maximum is 200. There are five regular symbols which feature in each of the three levels: owl, dog, monkey, fox and lion cub. A crown symbol denotes a jackpot spin.

Theme, Graphics and Soundtrack

It has a very childish setting, but it’s colourful, cheerful and simple. The giggling animals and kids’ TV music will either strike you as appropriate or annoying. What can we say? Not for everyone.

How to Play Party Pop

  1. Party Pop is a slot with cluster wins.
  2. Click the minus and plus arrows to each side of the Total Bet indicator to change the bet settings.
  3. Click the small green play button to turn on the automatic spin mode. Auto mode begins once you turn it on and continues until you end it by clicking again. The mode will automatically end when a feature is triggered.
  4. Click the odometer symbol to switch to turbo spin mode. In this mode some of the animations and sounds will be skipped.
  5. Click the Play button or press the space bar to spin the reels with the current bet. Click or press again to stop the reels.
  6. Click on the I icon to call up the reference page, which gives details of the various game components. Click on the ? in the black panel at the bottom for more game details
  7. The game starts at level 1 with a 5x5 grid. As you play you love on to level 2 (6x6) and level 3 (7x7). To progress through the levels your winning combinations need to match a pattern of highlighted tiles. The current level and applicable tile pattern are shown on the level board next to the grid. After each spin, the tiles in the pattern on which your combinations have landed will light up on the board and then disappear, leaving just the ones you still need to match. Once all tiles are matched you move up to the next level and a new pattern.
  8. To move up to level 2 you need to clear the board twice. To move up to level 3 you only need to clear it once.
  9. Land five, six or seven identical symbols adjacent to each other to win a multiplier of your bet. Symbols must be horizontally or vertically adjacent, not diagonally.
  10. Cascading reels: winning symbols explode after paying out, which causes more symbols to fall into the vacant spaces. These may create new wins. After any new wins the winning symbols will explode again. This process continues until no more winning combinations remain.
  11. Please always play responsibly and keep within your financial limits. You could lose money just as easily as you can win it. When the game stops being fun, please quit.

Party Pop Bonus Features

Lucky Meter

If you fill the lucky meter with 18 or more symbols, you trigger the Super Swap feature with a x3 multiplier. One symbol is chosen at random, and symbols on random reel positions will be swapped for that symbol, giving more winning chances.

Jackpot Wheel

The crown symbol randomly appears on the heads of animals and awards one jackpot spin each time one lands. The jackpot bonus game is activated at the end of level 3 if you have collected three or more crowns up to a maximum of nine. Choose an animal to start the game. Whenever it lands you win one more spin. Collect three, four or five for a jackpot prize of 100x, 2350x or 1,000x.

Party Pop Review: Our Verdict

Oddly attractive or just plain silly? You decide. The three-level design is interesting, and trying to match the pattern board is a nice touch. The RTP is OK. It’s only the cuteness that may deter.
