Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

The whole premise of this game is somewhat of a departure for a slot. You could say that it’s set in a burlesque club, but the presence of flappers in typical costume suggests the much more interesting prohibition era.

As far as sound goes, and we say this every time with a CT Gaming title...there is no sound! Not unless you count a few clicks of the wheel. For this game, this was a missed opportunity to give the game some much needed appeal. Imagine how the soundtrack could have been.

The icons are nice enough and if you really enjoy either burlesque or the prohibition era, then you might appreciate it. But for everyone else, the lack of sound makes the game fall rather flat.

How to Play The Great Cabaret

1. Use the blue ‘i’ button in the top left corner of the screen to view the win amounts for each combination.

2. To play in autoplay mode, use the green settings icon in the bottom left of the screen and adjust the AUTOPLAY settings using the plus and minus buttons.

3. In the bottom centre of the screen the total bet amount is displayed. You can adjust this by clicking the green settings icon in the bottom left of the screen. Once you’re in the settings, you can adjust the line bet using the plus and minus buttons. In demo mode, the number of lines played is fixed at 100.

4. To start play, click the large red SPIN button in the bottom right of the screen.

On the bottom right of the screen you can view your balance amount.

Wild Host

The host in the sequinned trilby is this game’s Wild symbol and it can substitute for any other symbol in the game apart from the Scatter. When he takes part in a combination win, he will multiply all wins x2.

Scatter the Singer

The brunette singer with a rose in her hair is this game’s Scatter symbol. If she appears three, four or five times across the reels, you’ll be rewarded with 15 free spins. These can be retriggered if she decides to put in another few appearances! Every win you make in the free spins round is multiplied by three, excluding the Wild combos.

Our Verdict

This is a retro themed slot, but perhaps not as you’re used to. Instead of spinning fruit, this game tasks you back to the days of flappers, prohibition and swinging pearls.

For a CT Gaming title, the features—although only two in number—have a welcome amount of complexity to them. Of course, we can’t go over the top here, they are still just a Wild and a Scatter. We await the day when CT Gaming decides to go out on a limb and introduce something original.

In fairness, the medium to high volatility, plus a decent RTP and a high max theoretical win, could be enough to keep you in this club until midnight. If they want to keep us until closing time, as we said, CT are going to need to start putting in a bit more work.
