Despite using a classic slot theme, Wild Cherry Blast is proof that developers can still innovate and find new ways to make their slots play. Rather than focussing on individual spins, Wild Cherry Blast has a genuine feeling of progression thanks to its Juicer Machine.

Theme, Graphics & Design

For a slot that pushes the boundaries so far in terms of gameplay, it’s a little odd that Wild Cherry Blast employs one of the oldest themes in the book: the classic fruit machine. That’s no bad thing, and it’s great to have a little familiarity amongst the excitement of new features and creative gameplay elements.

The action plays out against a futuristic raspberry-coloured background, replete with fork lightning and some turbulent-looking storm clouds. The setting isn’t anywhere in particular, neither deep space nor high in the sky, but it’s full of energy and edge, and it’s complemented by a soundtrack that crackles along with ferocious intent.

Slots like this inevitably leave a little to be desired in the symbol design department. Wild Cherry Blast brings absolutely nothing new to the paytable, although all the symbols are intricately designed and more realistic than a lot of the other fruit machines we’ve tested.

Our Verdict

Wild Cherry Blast is a surprising slot in many ways. When it loads it appears simple - just another fruit machine based game. But pay it some attention and this slot will reveal a far more complex, interesting side.

The Juicer Machine is the most noticeable feature. It’s in play all the time and changes your mindset as you spin. Just how many explosive wilds are on the reels can determine whether you’ll play on for a few more spins or walk away. 

Free spins and the explosive Cherry Bombs won’t be talked about as much, but they help to keep the game varied between Juicer Machine events. Of course, we would have liked to see a little more originality across the paytable, but Wild Cherry Blast saves its creative juices for the gameplay.
