Introduction 

Saucify's Wild Fishing is more than it seems with three different types of scatter and two different pick me-style feature games. One scatter pays a cash prize, one provides a choice between two feature games, and one unlocks up to 25 free spins. The wild substitutes for all symbols apart from the scatter.

Theme, graphics & soundtrack

Set by a river with mountains and forests in the background, Wild Fishing's reels are edged with a fishing rod, line and float. The higher-tier symbols are freshwater fish, including the perch, carp, rainbow trout and catfish, while the lower-tier symbols are beautifully coloured lures or flies, cleverly crafted to look like the jack to ace playing card symbols. The wild is a fish logo, while the feature and free spins scatters are a fishing toolbox and fishing reel respectively. The scatter is an angler. 

The slot has an acoustic style soundtrack and the fish symbols make a splashing sound whenever they contribute to a win. The bigger win congratulatory messages - 'Nice Catch', 'This Big' and 'Whopper' - are a great addition to the theme.

How to play Wild Fishing

Once the game loads, you will be taken straight to the reels. Before you start, it is worth taking some time to familiarise yourself with the slot and its rules and settings.

1. The menu button will take you straight to the settings, where you will find three tabs. On the bet tab, you can adjust the coin size, coins per line and the number of lines you want to bet on or select max bet for the maximum wager per spin. You can also adjust your bet directly from the reels by tapping the bet button. 
2. If you want to use autoplay, select the autoplay tab. This enables you to set the number of automatic spins. You can either select the pre-set numbers or increase or decrease the number of spins beyond the 5 or 50 autoplay selections using the + and - buttons. There are no loss limits on these settings, so make sure you are ready to stop autoplay if you need to and keep an eye on your balance. Autoplay will stop if a feature is triggered.
3. The additional options tab enables you to turn on, turn off or adjust the volume of the soundtrack and/or sound effects.
4. The information button takes you to the paytable and rules. The information page can also be accessed directly from the reels.
5. You are now ready to start. Please make sure you gamble responsibly by setting a budget and never betting more than you can afford to lose.

Bet Sizes & paytable wins 

Bet sizes range between 0.01 per line and 1.25 per line, or 0.30 to 37.50 per spin on 30 lines. You can adjust your coin size, the number of coins per line or the number of lines to select your desired total bet amount. 

All symbols with the exception of the wild, free spins scatter and feature scatter pay out in multiplies of your line bet. The paying scatter pays out in multiples of your total bet. 

The catfish is the highest-paying symbol on the paytable, with 1,000x your line betfor five of a kind.

Feature game

To activate the feature game, you need to land three or more feature scatters. You are given a choice of two feature games, either pick a spot or spin and win. Both games involve picking three fishing floats or lures from a number of possibilities to reveal cash prizes. 

The prize values depend on the size of the bet that triggered the feature game. It is not possible to trigger the feature game during the free spins round.

Free spins

The free spins round is triggered by three or more free spins scatters. The number of free spins depends on the number of scatters: 

3 scatters = 14 free spins
4 scatters = 20 free spins
5 scatters = 25 free spins

Free spins cannot be retriggered during the free spins round.

Wild Fishing review: our verdict

Despite there being a generous number of free spins available, we found Wild Fishing a little disappointing overall. The free spins don't retrigger and both the feature games are essentially the same 'pick me' game with different artwork, even though one of them is misleadingly titled 'spin n win'.
