Beauty Warrior is an understated slot but for one crucial addition: when the expanding wild feature springs into life, the entire slot changes. Other less-valuable symbols, including the male warrior, the sword, shield and the jewellery box, are nicely detailed and the colour scheme of reds and golds is decadent.

We must draw attention to the background. For a slot with such a rich history to tap into, the background is simplistic in the extreme. It shows a plain green backdrop with no detail and very little by way of texture. This a shame considering the amount of detail in the paytable.

Our verdict

Its basic background makes Beauty Warrior easy to underestimate. The design doesn’t have the immediate wow factor of some other online slots, but plenty is going on under the surface to keep things engaging.

The expanding wild is the standout feature, making for some thrilling gameplay moments as new combinations form and a second wild is added to the grid. This feature can be lucrative and certainly elevates the base game above much of the competition.

We applaud Amatic’s decision to make the scatter the most valuable symbol. Its appearance always guarantees a win, no matter how small, as it doesn’t need to land on a payline. We would have liked to see a more detailed setting, but Beauty Warrior relies on captivating gameplay to entice players.
