Emerald King: Rainbow Road is a follow-up to Pragmatic Play’s 20-payline Emerald King slot. In terms of design, there isn’t much difference between the two games as they both have the same soundtrack and overall aesthetic.

We’d say that Rainbow Road is a little bit more polished from a design perspective, as the symbols seem to be a more cohesive. However,  there really isn’t much distinguishing the games from one another.

How to Play

Emerald King is very easy to get started playing:

1. Once the game loads, click on the hamburger menu in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. Here, you can toggle the game’s settings like sound effects and battery saver mode.
2. Click on the i button to review the paytable.
3. Decide on your wager. You can bet between .20 coins and 240 coins per spin.
4. Look at your autoplay options. Here, you can also turn on the quick-spin setting.
5. Hit the spin button and enjoy!

The RTP (return to player) of Emerald King: Rainbow Road is 96.71%. Seeing as most slots max out at 96.5%, this is a higher-than-average RTP that offers generous winning potential. It is also a highly volatile slot offering a top prize of 20,000x.

How to Win

There are 20 paylines in this slot, and winning combinations are made by landing three or more matching symbols on any of them. The logo is the most generous symbol of the bunch, awarding a top prize of 25x. Wilds substitute for all other symbols, but they don’t award their own prizes.

Pick Me Bonus

Landing three pot of gold scatters will trigger the Pick Me round. You’ll then be prompted to pick from the scatters to either earn entry into the Rainbow Road Bonus or receive a cash prize. The prizes you can win will depend on the number of scatters that trigger the round:

When you land three leprechaun scatters, you’ll trigger the Rainbow Road bonus. This is the same kind of bonus as the Road to Riches in Rainbow Riches. Here, you spin a mini slot to determine how far along the path you travel. You can either land on multiplier spots or mini slots. The bonus ends when you make it to the final spot or if you land a COLLECT on the mini slot.

Emerald King: Rainbow Road Review

Emerald King: Rainbow Road is a good follow-up to the original game, as it has very different bonus features on offer and really offers players something new. While the original slot had colossal symbols and increasing multipliers during the base game, Emerald King: Rainbow Road has two actual bonus games.

We also like that the developer decided to keep the mini slots bonus, even when mixing up the rest of the gameplay. Like the bonus in Reel King Megaways, this feature is a fun little addition that doesn’t award huge payouts but mixes things up nicely.

The RTP of Emerald King: Rainbow Road is another selling point. At 96.71%, it’s not only more generous than Emerald King; it’s more generous than many other slots on the market today. When most slots offer top payout percentages of 96.5%, a game with 96.71% is a lot more attractive.

The original Emerald King wasn’t a huge hit for Pragmatic Play, so we wondered why the brand would choose to create a follow-up. But, after playing the slot for a bit and experiencing its bonus features, we can see that the series did deserve a second chance. The mini slots feature is good fun and its nice to see it featured again, amidst a different selection of bonuses for a great combination.
