Fei Cui Gong Zhu has a five-reel, three-row grid with 20 paylines. Theme, graphics and soundtrack

You will see the serene sea, misty mountains, hanging gardens, vases, fans and temples. All the usual archetypes of Chinese-themed games are here, and Playtech has done little to refresh them. The soundtrack is a slightly meandering and underpowered score, which is overpowered by some irritating sound effects.

How to play Fei Cui Gong Zhu

1. Fei Cui Gong Zhu has 20 paylines. You can choose to play on any number of them from one upwards.
2. Click - or + to select the total bet.
3. Click - or + to select the number of lines.
4. Press the spin button to spin the reels with the current bet; alternatively, press the space bar to spin.
5. For autoplay mode, press the autoplay button and select the number of spins to autoplay from 10 to 99.
6. The number of spins remaining is displayed during automatic play. The automatic games will end when the number of spins specified have been completed.
7. You can end the automatic game by pressing the stop button.

Bonus symbol

The dragon gate bonus symbol appears both during the main game and the free games round. Three or more bonus symbols appearing consecutively on an active payline, starting from the leftmost reel, trigger the Secret Garden bonus feature. 

Secret Garden bonus

Pick flowers to win cash prizes. Each flower reveals a cash prize equalling the line bet multiplied by one of the following randomly chosen multipliers: 10, 12, 15, 16, 18, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100. At the end of the bonus game, a win screen will display your winnings. 

Free games

Three or more scatters appearing anywhere on the reels during the main game trigger 10 free games with a multiplier of 3x applied to all free games wins except the Secret Garden bonus wins.

If three or more scatter symbols appear simultaneously during the free games, you are awarded an additional 10 free games with the same 3x multiplier. Free games can be retriggered in this way indefinitely.

Dragon jackpot

There are four levels of jackpot: green, blue, red and yellow. The different jackpots hold different prize amounts.

The trigger for the jackpot game can randomly occur after any main game spin, even if the spin has produced no winnings. A bet of any size can trigger the jackpot game; however, the higher your bet, the bigger your chance to enter the dragon jackpot. 

Upon entering the jackpot game, the screen will reveal a wheel with 10 positions. Each position holds a coloured symbol that represents one of the four jackpots and you have to collect three matching symbols. Spin the wheel by clicking the spin button.

The lacklustre look and sound are partially offset by the extras, which are plentiful. Everyone wants to get to the dragon jackpot, but even the bonus game in which you pick the flowers makes a nice departure from the base game. There is a fair amount going on here and if you are prepared to bet high, you could see some big wins.
