First Person Baccarat Overview
Evolution is one of the most recognised developers in live dealer games, including its award-winning First Person series. First Person games use random number generators (RNGs) rather than live streams, but they have a “GO LIVE” button to take you to the dealer’s table. The general interface is the same as other Evolution Gaming casino games.
In line with the idea that live dealer games should come as close as possible to creating a brick-and-mortar casino experience, First Person Baccarat is set in a virtual casino with digital cards. A luxurious hall of gold and marble shines around 6 tables in deep red. Bets, bonuses and statistics surround the playing area.
How to Play First Person Baccarat
You can hit the GO LIVE button at any point during your First Person Baccarat experience to visit the actual live dealer, but there are also various options that you may want to play around with while you're still in the single player RNG version, from tables to shuffles and bets. The general mechanics are fairly consistent with other forms of baccarat, including other Evolution games.
Choose Your Table
There are 6 tables to choose from in First Person Baccarat, and each can be switched between commission and no commission mode using the tab. Standard tables have a 5% commission on a Banker’s bet. For no commission tables, the house skips the 5% and instead maintains its edge by altering the payout if the Banker wins with 6.
Cards are Shuffled and Burnt
The game is played with 8 decks, each with a full 52 cards. At the start of a shoe, 1 face-up card is drawn. If you draw a 10 or a face card, 10 cards will then be burnt. Otherwise, the number of cards burnt is equal to the number value of the card.
Place Your Bets
The standard bets in First Person Baccarat are Player and Banker bets, but you can also find side bets such as pairs. Each bet comes with its own odds, depending on commission mode.
Cards are Dealt
Both the Player and Banker are dealt 2 cards each. A third card may be drawn depending on the totals:
- Player: draws a third card on 0–5; stands on 6–7; 8–9 is a natural.
- Banker: draws or stands depending on the Player’s hand and their own total.
How to Win
The goal is to predict which hand will be closest to 9. Aces = 1, cards 2–9 = face value, 10s and face cards = 0.
Special Features
Notable features include:
- Switch between commission and no commission tables.
- GO LIVE button to join a real dealer table instantly.
- Side bets for extra payout opportunities.
Betting Options
- Player Pair – Player’s first 2 cards form a pair.
- Banker Pair – Banker’s first 2 cards form a pair.
- Perfect Pair – Same value and suit; both hands = highest payout.
- Either Pair – Win if Player or Banker has a pair.
- Super 6 – Banker wins with 6 (no commission tables).
- Player Bonus / Banker Bonus – Win by 4+ points or with a natural 8/9.
Payouts
- Player: 1:1
- Banker: 0.95:1 (with commission) / 1:1 (for a 6 on no commission)
- Tie: 8:1
- Player/Banker Pair: 11:1
- Perfect Pair (Either): 25:1
- Perfect Pair (Both): 200:1
- Super 6: 15:1
- Either Pair: 5:1
- Bonuses: up to 30:1 depending on margin/natural
Optimal Strategy
Most players avoid betting on a Tie due to its high house edge. Player and Banker bets are more favourable. Responsible gambling is key: stick to limits and use timeout/self-exclusion tools if needed.

FAQs
What are standard and no commission tables?
Standard tables and no commission tables use different methods to allow the House to keep its edge. For standard tables, there’s a 5% commission on the Banker’s bet. For no commission tables, the payout for a Banker win changes if the Banker’s hand is worth 6 or more. There are 6 of each type of table in First Person Baccarat.
What is the “GO LIVE” button?
This is the bridge between First Person Baccarat as a random number generator game and the more traditional live dealer model with a live stream. It takes you directly from your first person experience to a live table. You can press this button at any point during your game, just as in Evolution’s First Person Roulette and First Person Blackjack.
What is the top prize available?
The highest payout available in First Person Baccarat is 200:1, which can only be achieved by a Perfect Pair where both the Player and the Banker have two cards that are identical in both number and suit. Payouts start at 1:1 or 0.95:1 for a regular Player or Banker bet.
What is the RTP for the base game?
Return to player average, or RTP, of First Person Baccarat is calculated as 98.76% on a Player bet or 98.94% on a Banker bet. Side bets may have lower RTP figures. You may also want to know that the volatility or variance of First Person Baccarat is considered to be low.
Are there any side bets?
Several different side bets are available in First Person Baccarat, including pairs, perfect pairs, either pair, super 6, the P bonus or the B bonus. Each has its own payout potential. Super 6 is only available in a no commission game when the house edge changes if the Banker wins on a 6.
