There are fruit machines and fruit machines. Some do the best they can to recreate the classic games of yesteryear, complete with retro graphics, while others give them a modern twist and load them with features. Fruits & Clovers is somewhere between the two. It has not included bonus features, but the graphics are anything but old-fashioned; instead, they are deep and rich, with succulent fruits that look good enough to eat. The symbols stand out even more due to the plain dark green background, which adds some sophisticated class to the overall impression. There is no music; instead, there are just simple clicks and whirs, although things liven up a little after winning spins when some symbols even catch fire.

How to play Fruits & Clovers

It looks simple and it is simple to play, which is just how we like it:

Fruits & Clovers bonus features

One sometimes disappointing thing about a classic themed slot is the tendency to minimise the bonus features. Fruits & Clovers takes this to the extreme, without a single free spin, multiplier or bonus round. The closest it gets is the wild symbol, which can act as a substitute for others, and the scatter symbol, which pays from anywhere.

Some might appreciate the simplicity; however, if you would rather push the luck of the four-leaf clover a bit further, perhaps try the Rainbow Riches slot. It is not too complicated in its format but does add a gamble feature and multiple bonus rounds, including multipliers and a wheel of fortune.

Playson slots come in all shapes and flavours. Whilst there is nothing wrong with Fruits & Clovers, it probably isn’t going to be the most stand-out game in this developer’s library. The graphics may be excellent, but it is still just a fruit machine with nothing else to set it apart. You could have fun playing it for a while, but it won’t take your breath away.
