The blue hand is a wild symbol, which appears on the middle reel. This symbol substitutes for all other symbols, making wins where there may have previously not have been.

The Golden Hand itself only appears on the middle reel too, it is a wild symbol but comes with special properties. If the Golden Hand lands on the top, or bottom slot in the middle reel, it will be surrounded by up to 5 additional wilds, potentially making two of the three rows entirely wild.
