Introduction

Medusa Hunt is a February 2022 release from game maker Red Rake who operate in 12 regulated markets. The game is played on a 5x3 reel set which generates 25 bet ways paying from left to right. Once the player lands a winning line it will remain in place and launch a re-spin. Any new symbols landing creating another winning line or increase the current winning combination will also remain in place. This process continues until no new wins are created. Each re-spin also increases a multiplier which is visible to the left of the reels, and this is applied at the end of the sequence.

There is a bonus symbol which triggers 10 free spins when three appear on the reels. During this phase the wild symbol will be fixed in place on the second reel, and a new improved multiplier table appears. Medusa Hunt Review 

This slot is an attractive addition to the Red Rake stable of games. The design is attractive, but perhaps the titular Gorgon could play a bigger role rather than just appearing as the wild symbol.

The RTP is also a bit of a disappointment, being below the industry average in the modern era. This is something of a surprise from Red Rake, who might have been tempted to tweak it to make the game more appealing, especially since it is a rather boring medium variance.

There is, however, lots of good news here. The winning lines which remain in place and trigger a free spin can lead to some progressive wins without affecting your wager. The multipliers are also a plus, and the fact that they increase in free games makes that feature even more attractive. Unfortunately, free games do not re-trigger as the bonus symbol is absent from the reels.
