Theme, graphics and soundtrack

The game has been very well visualised on the whole. The backdrop features a grand mountain range in cool blue hues with a branch from a blossoming lotus or cherry tree to one side. There is no animation, not even cloud movement, which seems to be a missed opportunity, but with all your attention focused on the reels there is plenty to enjoy there. The man and woman symbols are not particularly inspired but the rest of the set make up for this. The toad statue and the ideograph are both coloured in gleaming gold while the playing card symbols are a deep green decorated with starbursts and tassels. With the exception of a couple of 3D features it is largely 2D.

What is particularly noticeable is the lack of a soundtrack. Wins are accompanied by brief chords but other than that there are only the sound effects of the reels settling at the end of each spin. The advantage of this is that you don’t have to worry about the music becoming annoying, but it does make for a rather quiet experience.

Tigers Charms Review: Our Verdict

This is a good-looking game, despite the limitations we’ve mentioned. A lot of thought has gone into the creation of the icons and the Asian theme has been developed with just the right mix of the familiar - the lotus blossom, the Chinese lanterns, the iconic white beard - and the neutral. The multiple payline structure seems complicated at first but once you get the hang of it the game is a rewarding experience.
