Introduction

Apollo Games slots are well established in the international gaming world. The company is part of the impressive wave of game development that has been coming out of Eastern Europe in recent years. Apollo Games was founded in 2007 and is based in Prague in the Czech Republic. Its main markets are in the UK, Europe and Africa, but its presence at online casinos gives it access to many more jurisdictions both in its free slots and its paid versions.

Turbo Slots looks at first glance like a very traditional fruit themed game, but the appearance of the robotic wild symbol has echoes of Play’n’Go’s Fire Joker Freeze slots and other attempts at updating a classic concept.

Turbo Slots uses a 5x3 grid with five paylines. The lines are fixed and the minimum bet size is 0.20 while the maximum is 60.00. There are 11 regular symbols: a bar, a diamond, a bell, a lucky 7, a watermelon, a plum, grapes, an orange, a kiwi, a lemon and two cherries. The wild is an extending robotic arm, and there are also multipliers of 3x, 4x and 5x represented by sets of cherries, lemons, kiwis and oranges.

Theme, Graphics and Soundtrack

This is an unusual mixture of old-fashioned fruits and a high-tech environment with bright white lights, chrome grid and controls and flashing red and green buttons. The reels look quite ordinary as they spin, but when a wild lands all kinds of robotic gymnastics take place. The music is suitably electronic, and the look and sound work together rather well. There isn’t much variety, so it can get a little samey after a while, but it’s a good effort.

Turbo Slots RTP and Variance

Turbo Slots has an RTP of 95.0 per cent, which is below average. The variance is not recorded, but we estimate it to be quite low.

How to Play Turbo Slots

  1. The objective is to spin the reels and match two, three, four or five identical symbols on one or more of the five paylines. The level of winnings will depend on the symbols landed, according to the values in the paytable.
  2. To select your bet simply click on the bet indicator to the right of the control panel and use the plus and minus signs to move through the options. You can also pick your bet within the cash settings menu in the main menu.
  3. If you’d like to use automatic play mode, you need to click on the menu button, click on the settings cog symbol and then toggle Autostart from on to off. This will return you to the game, and you’ll see the reels spinning without your having to start them.
  4. If you are playing in manual mode, then click the start button to spin the reels.
  5. Wild symbols substitute for all symbols and can occur on reels 2-5.
  6. The spread symbol randomly spreads across the entire reel and replaces other symbols.
  7. The replacement symbol appears at random to replace another symbol.
  8. The rotation symbol mixes the other symbols up.
  9. Multipliers function thus: when identical cherry, lemon, orange or kiwi symbols land on the first three, four or five reels the entire winning amount is multiplied by three, four or five respectively.
  10. Wins on different paylines are added together.
  11. We are supporters of all safe gambling initiatives like BeGambleAware. We would urge you always to play responsibly. If you are playing for money, please keep your bets within affordable limits. Don’t forget that you can limit your play by using the time-out and self-exclusion features in your gaming account.

Turbo Slots Bonus Features

Gamble Feature

Whenever you win any amount, you are given the opportunity simply to collect it and continue playing or to gamble your winnings and double them or lose them. To gamble press the Gamble button that appears after a win and choose red or black. The cards will shuffle and then settle on a black or red suit. If the stake is higher than half of the gamble limit, the feature will automatically quit.

If you do decide to gamble, you need not bet the full amount of your win. Instead you can select half-take, which will bet only half your winnings. If you gamble successfully, you may continue until you have reached the maximum number of attempts, which is five, or until you lose.

Turbo Slots Review: Our Verdict

It’s quite a fast-moving game with fairly frequent wins giving lots of chances to gamble. It’s a shame the RTP and maximum pay-out are low because in the absence of any bonus features it does make you feel as if you’re working quite hard for little return. Worth a try even if it doesn’t become a favourite.

FAQs

What is the RTP and volatility?

The RTP is 95.0 per cent, and while the volatility level is not officially noted we estimate it to be low.

What is volatility?

High volatility means your wins will be large but will be delivered only rarely. Low volatility means the payouts will be more common but smaller.

What is the jackpot?

The maximum payout is only 500x, which is very low. Most gamers would consider anything below 4,000x to be disappointing.
