Introduction to Wild and the Beanstalk

There is a distinct Irish theme to the soundtrack of Wild and the Beanstalk. It sounds like a traditional Irish folk song, at least to those of us who are not expert. This game is available at Slots Temple and was created by Gameplay Interactive slots online.

As you might expect from a game that bears some similarities to the Jack and the Beanstalk slot demo, players climb a ladder to reach the top level, number twenty-two, to give it that Beanstalk feel. There are five by three reels in this game, which give you 20 different ways to win. Even if you don’t win a round, it’s fun trying to get to the top, and falling back down again. A bit like a very modern, online version of snakes and ladders, without the snakes.

The regular symbols have a botanical feel to them, with the court symbols being made from plant stems, the non-courts being flowers or arrows containing jewels. The wild symbol is depicted by a golden coloured W that has a flash of lightning going through it in win mode. The symbols are attractive and give Wild and the Beanstalk a friendly, welcoming feel.

How to Play Wild and the Beanstalk

1.    You start your game on level one.

2.    When the up-arrow, which bears a green jewel, appears, it will move you up a level. If you get more than one in the same spin, you will move up a commensurate number of levels.

3.    When the down arrow, which bears a red jewel, appears, it will move you down a level. If you get more than one in the same spin, you will move down a number of levels equivalent to the number of arrows. Both of these symbols shoot little lightning bolts over to the level chart when they appear on your screen.

The aim is to move all the way up to level 22.

Free Spins

When you make it to level 22 and you get an up arrow on your next spin, it triggers the free spins feature.

If you get five up or down arrows, you will trigger the Climb Up bonus, which will give you the opportunity to get free spins.

If you get the free spins feature, you will be awarded five free spins, and additionally, a multiplier of two.

Another special feature is the Sticky Wild. This is when the wild symbols stack up with three across the middle reel, and each outer reel displays them vertically, so together they look like a letter H. If you get this and the Free Spins button, you will get additional free spins. The game will return to level one when the free spins have finished.

Climb Up Bonus

If you get five up arrows, five down arrows or a combination of both, you will trigger a Climb Up Bonus. Each Climb Up Bonus has four levels. At each level, you get to choose one out of five treasure chests. If the one you choose gives you an up arrow, you move up a level. If the one you choose gives you a numerical prize, you return to the main game. If you are on level four when you get the Climb Up Bonus, you will trigger the Free Spins feature. You will return to level one at the end of the free spins.

Paytable

Payouts depend on the amount of the bet:

Yellow flower - between five and twenty

Cerise flower - between three and fifteen

Purple flower - between two and ten

Ace - between one and eight

King - between one and five

Queen - between one and five

Jack - between one and four

Payouts pay from left to right on active paylines. The highest winning payline is the only one to pay out, and only the highest winning combination pays. If there is a malfunction, all plays are voided.

The wild symbol can substitute all but three symbols: the up and down arrows and the free spin button.

Overall Review

We thought this game was great fun. We liked the fact that you can play for free (no worries about losing real money but you still get the enjoyment). We also like the fact that you start climbing up the beanstalk and get knocked down again. It was so enjoyable watching the arrows shooting lightning out that we didn’t mind which way we went!
