Aces & Eights - Power Poker Overview
Created by Flip Five Gaming for Games Global, this multi-hand poker game was built from the success of similar video poker variants such as Aces & Eights and Jacks or Better. But in this modern version of the game, there's a twist: up to 50 hands can be played in each round. Plus winners can double their money in the Double feature.
Play between one and 50 hands with options for one, four, ten or fifty matching hands. There’s no dealer or other players: you just want your hand/s to show a winning combo. Players can win on most of the normal poker hands, like Royal Flush and Two-Pair, but other hands are winnable, such as Jacks or Better, All Aces, All 7s and All 8s. Bet with a minimum of 25p and up to five coins for each round. In Aces & Eights Power Poker there's a max win of x800 for a Royal Flush and a max Double win of x10,000. This video poker game has a return of 99.09% and is highly volatile.
How to Play Aces & Eights - Power Poker
This game is quite straightforward to play. Players just need to decide the number of hands they want to play, their bet amount per hand (coin amount and number of coins) and whether they want to hold cards for a second deal.
Wagering and Holding
Make your wager from a minimum of 1x coin at 25p. Choose how many hands you want to play (each hand will cost the bet amount). Hit the green ‘Deal’ button to reveal your hand. Use the Hold option to change cards for a second bet. The game will automatically hold the cards most likely to result in the best hand. All hands will display the same cards.
Winning
If you win, you will receive the relevant payout amount, such as x1.25 for Jacks or Better or x1000 for a Royal Flush. The more hands you have, the more you will win. If you play with four hands at one coin of 25p and get a Jacks or Better hand, then the total bet is 1.00 and your total win is 1.25.

Betting Options
Players enjoy a range of betting options, mostly based on the number of hands they wish to bet on as well as a Hold bet option and a Double bet option.
One Hand
Play with just one hand of cards, your total bet is your coin amount x coin number x1 (hand).
Four Hand
Play with four matching hands. Your total wager is your coin amount x coin number x4 (hands).
10 Hand
Play with ten matching hands. Your total wager is your coin amount x coin number x10 (hands).
50 Hand
Play with 50 matching hands. Your total wager is your coin amount x coin number x50 (hands).
Double Bet
Players can make a double-bet on any win. In this simple bet, you are hoping your card is higher than the dealer's. If it is, your win is doubled; if it's not, you lose the win amount. If the card ties, you keep your winnings, or you can have a second chance to double the win by betting again.
Hold
If you have a promising hand, you can bet your wager again with the Hold option. The best cards are held, but the other cards are changed out.
Payouts
The payouts based on a five coin bet are as follows:
- Royal Flush = x1000
- 4x Aces or 8s = x87.5
- Straight Flush = x100
- 4x 7s = x62.5
- Four of a kind = x25
- Full House = x10
- Flush = x625
- Straight = x5
- Three of a kind = x3.75
- Two Pair = x2.5
- Jacks or Better = x1.25
Optimal Strategy
This is a luck-driven poker variant, but some strategy can be applied by using the Hold option. Unlike Video Poker games where you play against a dealer or other players, you are simply hoping for a good hand with no other hand to beat. If some of your cards are strong (e.g. Three-of-a-Kind), then holding those three for the chance of a Full House or Four-of-a-Kind might be worthwhile. Additionally, if you're holding multiple Aces, 7s or 8s, then holding those for the chance of a full set is also worth considering. However, it's important to remember that the Hold option costs a second wager amount. It's also important to remember that the more hands you play, the bigger your bet.
To play it safe, play with a lower number of hands (one or four), which reduces your betting spend. To play even more safely, avoid using the Double bet feature and collect your wins instead, especially on any big wins. Remember, when the fun stops, it’s time to walk away.

Design and Graphics
The game’s modern design has all the hall-marks of Games Global casino games. The clean look demonstrates a clear move away from clunkier-looking poker predecessors from other developers. In this game a royal blue background foregrounds the face-down cards, which have an orange and yellow backing. If one hand is played, this will occupy the main section of the screen, but the more hands that are played the smaller each hand will appear. To the left of the cards is the paytable, and below the cards are the function buttons.
