Introduction

Evoplay’s Anubis Moon online slot is a relatively recent addition to the growing list of Egyptian-themed games. Although its range of symbols is simpler, it has a lot in common with IGT’s Pharaoh's Fortune slot. It would be good to see some imaginative alternatives to temples and hieroglyphics one day; however, this Anubis Moon slot review is not concerned with the wider issues of the genre.

The basic detail of any free slot review should include its extra features, but there isn’t very much to talk about here. There is no bonus game and while the maximum payout of 5,000x is good, it is not the best casino bonus we have seen. Theme, graphics and soundtrack

As we have mentioned, the graphics - while very smartly done, particularly the two sphinxes with the uplighter effects - give us a sense of déjà vu. We are faced with another shadowy temple with a wall full of ancient images, which is a look that is a little over-used. Things liven up considerably when you start winning and scatters begin to accumulate. The scarab beetles’ wings are actually quite unsettling, but it is an impressive sight as they take over the grid.

How to play Anubis Moon

1. The bet indicator is to the left of the play button. Click this to bring up a slider that you can move to increase or decrease the bet. Alternatively, you can adjust it with the plus and minus controls or click the coins icon.
2. It is rare to find an online slot without an autospin feature. In this game, you open the auto menu by clicking the small play button to the right of the large one. Your choice of spins is 10, 30, 50, 80 or 100. You can also use sliders to set single win, balance increase and balance decrease limits. If any of these limits are reached, the game will quit automatic mode.
3. The number of spins remaining is shown on the small play button. If you wish to stop autoplay, simply click this button again.

Anubis Moon scatter

The scatter is the only feature. Scatter symbols can land on any reel, with a symbol combination forming wherever they land. When three or more scatters appear, they will not pay out immediately but will become sticky and trigger the respin. Respins will end when no new symbols appear on the reels or when 20 scatters occupy the entire grid, covering every space. At the end of the respins, all scatter symbols will pay.

Anubis Moon review: our verdict

As you will have gathered from the short bonus features section, this is a very straightforward game. The payouts can be pretty good but the gameplay is a little ordinary, only coming to life when the scatters start falling onto the reels. It is a decent effort but it feels as if a little more imagination could have made it stand out from the pack.
