The game’s real theme is a group is Meso-American priestesses headed up by the wisest of women, the head priestess. Given that one of the priestesses is blonde and one is a redhead, it looks more like they are on their way to a fancy dress party; however, as with most slots, you will need to suspend your disbelief to get on board with the narrative.

How to play Book of the Priestess

1. Make a total bet of between 0.10 (0.01 per line) and 10,000 (1,000 per line). You can do this using the bet function buttons to the lower left of the reels.
2. To the right of this is another wager button that takes you to a popup screen if you prefer to wager in this way, the main spin button, and the autospin button.
3. To activate autospin, simply click the button and select up to 100 automated spins. You will also see the option to choose one of the stop features.

This feature is triggered by landing three or more book scatters; alternatively, you can click the buy bonus button at a cost of 87x your total current bet. Players will be awarded ten free spins. Before they start, one base symbol will be randomly selected. Every time this symbol can create wins by doing so, it will expand across the reel. It also expands if it lands more than twice on a reel. 

Each new scatter will reduce the counter in the ancient mask to the left of the reels. The counter counts down from seven and if it reaches zero before the ten free spins have been completed, another symbol becomes an expanding symbol and five more spins are awarded. This video slot game has super-simple gameplay whereby players need only select a total bet before they can make their first spin. The autospin function allows for up to 100 automated spins with various stop options. It is also easy to select the buy bonus option.

Theme and style

The ‘Book of ..’ theme may be redundant but the priestess theme is excellent. The game is especially good for players who enjoy games with a Meso-American or jungle setting. The musical soundtrack adds a pulsating beat to the game, whilst the calming rainforest sounds take you directly to the jungle.
