Ariana - base game
One of the game's great features is that when you get an expanding symbol stacked on reel one, all the matching symbols on the other reels expand; however, matching symbols only expand when they are part of a winning combination. With both stacked and expanding wilds, this is a great game both visually and in terms of gameplay.
Ariana - free spins game
The difference in the way the expanding symbols stack in the free spins game revolves around the wild. As in the base game, any symbol stack on reel one that is expanded across the three rows has the effect of expanding any matching high symbol on the other reels; however, unlike in the base game, this also applies to the wilds in the free spins game. As in the base game, the matching symbols only expand when they are part of a combination that is a winner.
Ariana - and the starfish scatter
The wild is the Ariana logo, shown against the sea and framed in silver. This substitutes for all symbols except the starfish. Five Ariana logos pay 25, four pay 7.5, and three pay 5.
The starfish is the scatter and is a much tastier catch, with 250 for five, 25 for four, 5 for three, and 2.5 for two. Scatter wins are multiplied by your total bet and added to any payline wins. The starfish can sit in any position on any reel.
Starfish scatters, free spins, and Ariana gets stacked
Three, four or five starfish scatters trigger 15 free spins. During free spins, the Ariana logo turns into the stacked image of Ariana on reel one. What is really great is that the free spins can be retriggered during the free spins game if three scatters turn up anywhere on the reels.
Ariana - fantastic seabed symbols
The playing area is set against the beautiful seabed, where we can find some wonderful symbols. In addition to the beautiful blue and red starfish scatter, we have something that at first glance might be mistaken for a bunch of swimming carrots; in fact, it is a seahorse! There is also the treasure chest the sea coral.
Ariana is worth 20 for five, 6 for four and 3 for three of her symbol. She can become a stacked symbol on all reels. The seahorses are worth 17.5 for five of them, 5 for four and 2.5 for three. The treasure chest is worth 15 for five, 4 for four of them and 2 for three, while the coral reef is worth 12.50 for five of them, 3 for four and 1.5 for three. The seahorse, treasure chest and coral reef can all appear as stacked symbols on reel one.
As usual, we have the high playing card symbols. Five, four or three appearances of the ace pay out 6, 2 and 0.7 respectively, while the king pays 5, 1.5 and 0.6 and the queen pays 4, 1.2 and 0.5. Finally, the jack pays 3, 1 and 0.4 and the ten pays 2.5, 0.8 and 0.3.
Customise your gameplay in Ariana
If you click on the settings button, you can customise various features to fine tune the way you play the game. In the casino options box, you will first see the gameplay settings. These enable you to turn on the turbo action by selecting ‘quickspin’. If you want to activate quickspin in the free spins game, you need to check that box separately.
In the graphics settings, you can choose either basic or enhanced graphics, probably depending on how fast your connection is and what device you are playing on.
There is also a set of comprehensive sound settings. You can click boxes to switch off all the sounds, just the game sounds, just the win sounds, or just the background sounds. Click ‘OK’ when you finish to save any settings you have changed, or ‘cancel’ to close the box without changing your settings.
There is also a quick way to change the sound level in the game. If you look to the top right-hand side of the game, there is a small speaker icon. Click on this icon and you will see a slider bar that you can use to lower or raise the soundtrack volume as you wish.
Use the Ariana autoplay feature to keep diving for wins
Click on the autoplay button to play 10, 25, 50 or 100 times - the number you have chosen will appear over the button. You can also use set the ‘until stop’ option to keep spinning until you take action to stop the spins - if autoplay is running, the button shows ‘stop’.
There is also a ‘custom’ choice. Click on this option to open the autoplay selections. You can set the number of spins from 5 to 500 and can set the ‘stop’ options. You can choose to stop the spins once the total you require has been reached or you can stop spinning if you are awarded a win of a certain size. When you click on this option, you can use the coins feature to set the size of the win that you want to stop the autoplay spins. The choices are 1, 100, 500, 1,000, 5,000 or 9,999.
When you have finished setting your options, click on ‘save’ and ‘close’; alternatively, if you want to start autoplay straight away, click ‘start’ and the new options will be active. If you change your mind, just click ‘cancel’. When autoplay is running, there is a counter at the foot of the play area that counts the spins and shows the total number you have set.
Customising your wagering in Ariana
If you click on the ‘coin size’ button, you will see a box that enables you to set the number of coins in each bet and the size of the coins you are using. The maximum coin size is 0.5 and the maximum number of coins is 10. If you use the ‘max bet’ button, your wager will automatically be calculated using the highest number of coins and the maximum coin size. This will be reflected in the wager displayed in the ‘bet total’; however, you can tweak this manually if you wish.

Playtech's Great Blue adopts the ocean theme to bring you a video slot with five reels and 25 paylines. We have seahorses and starfish again, but this time they are joined by a shark. This could be scary; however, Playtech's shark looks pretty friendly and is borderline smiling, which might be because he just ate a starfish! There are bubbles everywhere in this slot and the graphics are extremely cute and friendly, with a turtle, fish, and - best of all - an oyster shell with a pearl inside.
With stacked wilds, scatters and a famous free spins round that just keeps triggering more free spins, Great Blue has a huge fan base, and rightly so. As with all the other slots here at Slots Temple, it plays seamlessly on mobile and tablet.
Queen of the Seas is one of the more raucous free slots. Here we have a pirate queen complete with a parrot and some great symbols such as a compass, a map with the treasure marked by a skull-headed dagger, the pirate ship, and - of course - the Queen of the Seas herself. There is a great soundtrack of the ocean and excellent animations; for example, when the skull and crossbones acts as the wild, its eyepatch disappears and its eye sockets light up, which is really spooky. This symbol doubles your wins. A treasure chest bursting with treasure is the scatter, with the whole thing a lot of fun.
Mermaid's Millions is another Microgaming slot is the maker behind. This is much more cartoonish than Ariana; in fact, the seahorse in this game looks like a cool dude taking a nap. Again, we have an oyster with a pearl inside. Poseidon - or Neptune, take your pick - is a jolly-looking type, with nothing stormy about him.
He is the game's wild, so watch out - he may have an unpredictable side and may float a whole lot of riches your way. Our cute mermaid is the scatter and you will receive ten free spins when she appears twice or more on the reels. What’s more, any wins you have are tripled during the free spins game.
The treasure chest is worth watching out for - if it turns up three or more times on any reel, you will get a bonus round. This is a picking task with various items to select, each of which has a prize attached to it.
Lastly, we can't ignore Nemo's Voyage from Williams Interactive. Wow, what a start to a game! You are right up close and personal with a giant octopus that is undulating in the water and giving you a distinctly funny look. This is a whole different universe of gaming. You have to descend deeper and deeper into the ocean, with features becoming unlocked as you go down. You have clumped wilds, persisting wilds and pressure wilds; in addition, you have to deal with terrifying sea creatures.
Each time you spin, the submarine Nautilus goes a bit further down and the pressure indicator goes up. This is not necessarily a bad thing - as the pressure goes up, so too do the chances to win those different kinds of wilds in a bonus game. When the submarine is moving up, it can hit a ‘lock’ - play this to find out what happens next!
This is a one-off and it is great to find a slot that is so original and with a quest featuring in it. You will kick yourself if you miss this one.
It is a good thing to play free slots, regardless of whether you intend to go on to play for money. Playing a slot for free means that you learn how it works and how much it pays out before risking any of your real money on it.
Some slots lovers play for free all the time. There is such a range of free games here at Slots Temple that you never run short of slots that match your interests and the kind of gameplay you like.
If you find that you are spending too long playing, even though the slots are free, you need to take back control. Slots Temple supports responsible gaming, which is why you will find the GambleAware logo at the bottom of the screen. Click on this and you will find lots of help to check whether your gaming is becoming a problem, including a self-assessment checklist.
Enjoy these wonderful slots but remember not to neglect other areas of your life. Note how long you have been playing and take a break every so often.

Vividly brought to life, Ariana is a visually exciting slot with lots of movement on screen as the stacked and expanding wilds take over. It is not the most complex gameplay, but it is an entertaining all-rounder that will keep its many fans playing over and over again.
