How to Win at Buffalo Ultimate Stampede

Buffalo Ultimate Stampede uses Aristocrat's XTRA REEL POWER system, so instead of paylines you win across 1024 ways on the 5-reel grid. A full bet covers all 1024 ways for 20 coins, and wins form when matching symbols land on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost, wherever they sit on the reel.

Only one symbol from each reel counts toward a combination, the highest win per combination is paid, and coinciding wins are added together. The buffalo is the top symbol, with the eagle, wolf and mountain lion below it and playing-card symbols filling the low end.

Features

Buffalo Ultimate Stampede has two main rounds, the classic Buffalo free games and the newer Stampede hold and spin, plus a meter that can hand you the Stampede Feature at random. Here is how they work.

Free Games

Land three, four or five gold coin scatters to trigger the Free Games, awarding 8, 15 or 20 games. During the round, each sunset wild multiplier that lands on reels 2, 3 or 4 multiplies that spin's total win by 2 or 3.

Landing two, three, four or five scatters during the round retriggers 5, 8, 15 or 20 more games, and your bet stays the same as the spin that triggered it.

Stampede Feature

The Stampede Feature is the hold and spin round, triggered when 6 or more green Stampede Cash coins land in a single bought or free game. The triggering coins lock in place as held buffalo symbols, every other position becomes its own spinning reel, and you start with 6 spins. The number of coins that trigger it sets how many rows start active.

Every Stampede Cash coin that lands is held for the rest of the feature, and the spins reset depending on what lands. Two or more coins reset the spins back to 6, while a coin landing on an active row resets them to 3 if you are currently below 3.

Each inactive row can be unlocked by collecting the number of coins shown on it in active positions, which is how the grid expands toward its full 55 positions across 11 rows. The feature ends when no spins remain or all 55 positions are filled.

Stampede Cash and Jackpots

The green Stampede Cash coins are what carry the prizes. Each can hold a cash value, a Mini or Minor bonus, or a Major or Grand jackpot. 

The green coins only appear in rows 1 to 4, while the Grand can appear in row 11 and the Major across rows 9 to 11.The Mini, Minor and cash prizes that landed on active rows are paid at the end of the feature. The Major and Grand are paid straight away if they land on an active row, or the moment their row becomes active.
