Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

The background scene behind the reels shows a view of the sea with an island to the left. To the right of the reels a fleet of sailing ships is making its way towards the harbour. The reels themselves are kept a neutral cream colour, so that the symbols really stand out. You’ll find all the usual playing card icons as well as a trio of pirates, cannons and the ship’s parrot.

Pirates of the Mediterranean Bonus Features & Free Spins

The colourful parrot symbol is the game’s Wild, so it can substitute for all other symbols on the reels, apart from the golden parrot Walking Wild and the Treasure Chest Scatter. So every time it appears on the reels there’s a good chance that it will help to create one or more winning combinations.

The golden parrot is the game’s Walking Wild symbol. Whenever it lands on the reels, it triggers a free Respin as it walks one space to the left with every spin, until it disappears off the edge of the game. Don’t worry if the parrot ‘walks’ over a Scatter symbol, as the Scatter will still be visible and can still award Free Spins. But they won’t be activated until the Walking Wild feature is completed. Walking Wild only occur in the base game.

Treasure chest Scatter symbols pay out cash rewards for landing two or more, in any position on the reels - unlike the other symbols in the game they don’t have to conform to payline rules. But if you land three or more Scatters you’ll access the game’s Free Spins round. The Pirate Compass appears on the screen and randomly awards 10, 12, 14, 16 or 18 Free Spins. All wins are subject to a 4x Multiplier throughout the bonus round, apart from wins involving a parrot Wild, which attract an 8x Multiplier.
