Rise of Montezuma is one of the slots created by game maker Pragmatic Play. It centres on the story of Montezuma, or the last Aztec ruler before the empire disappeared after the Spanish Conquest. His full name translates as “Angry Like a Lord” but this slot provides fun rather than fury.

The base game is played on a 6x5 grid which has an avalanche mechanism replacing winning symbols as they are removed. A minimum of eight matching symbols pay out when they appear anywhere on the grid, and the maximum win in the game is set at x10,000.
