Take Olympus is a new video slot from Betsoft that is built around a 5-reel, 4-row format. There are 50 paylines, and you can play the game from between 0.10 and 40 credits per spin. The game has a default RTP of 95.49%, and bonuses and features include five different reel modifiers, which change continually as you play the game.
Take Olympus is the latest release from Betsoft, and this Ancient Greek game offers up some great-looking graphics, fast-paced gameplay, and a really unique gameplay mechanism where the slot cycles through a number of different “modes” as you play.
Graphics and Theme
Take Olympus is focused mainly around Mount Olympus - the home of the Ancient Greek deities - and if you look to the background of the game you’ll notice a fantastically-crafted garden, full to the brim of flowers, ancient statues and glorious templates, all displayed in magnificat white marble.
Format and Betting Options
Take Olympus is built around a 5-reel, 4-row format, and there’s a total of 50 paylines in play at all times - although you can adjust the number of lines active. You can spin the reels from as little as 0.10 credits per spin and as much as 40 credits per spin - and in this Take Olympus slot review we’re going to be giving you an in-depth and impartial look at what the game has to offer.
Take Olympus’ RTP and Volatility
While many of Betsoft’s games are fairly low in volatility, Take Olympus is one of the few that lands more on the high variance side of things. To us, this was somewhat of a surprise, given that the maximum win on any one spin is just 2,328X your stake.
While it’s - of course - still a very decent amount of money to win, we find it quite surprising that a high variance game carries such a low maximum win.
When it comes to RTP, Take Olympus ships with a default RTP of 95.49%. However, as with many of Betsoft’s slots, Take Olympus is actually available in a number of different RTP settings.
Take Olympus; bonuses and features are incredibly unique - and it basically all comes down to five different Gods, of which are cycled through in periods of 10 spins. Each God builds its power, the more you play, and while the order of which God is chosen is completely random, it’s not possible to have the same God more than a few times in a row.
When the Apollo cycle is in motion, all of the symbols that feature Bows or Apollo become “marked” when they land on the reels. On the 10th spin (the final spin of the cycle), all of the positions that have been marked transform into wild symbols for one spin - increasing your chances of forming wins.
During this cycle, landing the Leaf of Aphrodite symbols will mark the reels, just as we saw during the Apollo cycle. On the final spin - again, the 10th spin of the cycle - all of the marked positions become Mystery Boxes, and once the spin is complete, all of these mystery symbols will transform into identical symbols.
For this God, landing any of the Poseidon or Trident symbols anywhere in view will see a counter increased. This counter increases by one for each new symbol that lands in view. Once the cycle has completed, you will be awarded a certain number of re-spins - which correlates to the number of notches you’ve added to the counter during the cycle.
Each time you land one of the marked symbols during this cycle, a +1 will be added to a multiplier trail. If, on the final spin of the cycle, a win is formed, the multiplier you’ve managed to accumulate will then be applied against the win in question.
The Zeus cycle is the only cycle in which you’ll be able to trigger the main free spins bonus, and if he lands fully in view - covering an entire reel, with all four symbols - you will then be awarded 10 free spins. Zeus can also ‘borrow’ any of the features from the other four Gods, so he’s basically the ‘ultimate’ God, and the cycle you’ll want to be aiming for the most.
Take Olympus Review
While Betsoft may still be trying to establish themselves as a prominent, reputable game developer, they appear to be doing a fairly good job of building their popularity among players, and it’s become clear that their games are starting to ‘catch on’ with players; indeed, titles like Take Olympus can now be found at more online casinos than ever before, showcasing just how popular the software provider’s games are.
When we first tried out Take Olympus, we were really surprised with the quality of the game - quality is something that Betsoft have struggled with in the past, and we found it incredibly refreshing to see that everything, from the graphics to the animations - even the sound effects - were designed in crisp HD and rendered well across all devices.
While the RTP comes in a tiny bit lower than we’d like to see, on the whole, Take Olympus is a fantastic effort from Betsoft, and we expect it to go down pretty well with players across the iGaming spectrum.
